MPP alumni Steve Sharkey ('06) has been selected as a finalist for the 2016 NextGen Public Service Award. The award recognizes public servants who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities and organizations. Steve is the Director of the Department of General Services for the City of Baltimore, where he manages a staff of over three hundred fifty employees who perform fleet management and building maintenance for the municipal government.

A committee of current and former government employees selected thirty finalists from 120 nominations from federal, state and local government. The NextGen awards ceremony will be held on August 2 in Washington, DC.
