The Graduate Council’s Research Committee at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) invites you to its 5th Annual Graduate Education Week, which will be held the week of April 15, 2019 to April 19, 2019.
Symposium Invitation
The Graduate Council’s Research Committee at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) invites you to the 10th Annual Regional Research Symposium 2019. This year Symposium 2019 is part of the Graduate Research Week, and will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2019. The title of this year’s Symposium is “10 Years Strong: A Celebration of Excellence in Research and Innovation.”
Symposium Information
The symposium will present a forum to discuss research at regional universities, colleges and industry. Oral and poster presentations of research by students (graduate and undergraduate) and faculty will be featured. The best of each will receive awards.
Symposium Registration
Each person attending the conference must register for the conference separately.
All attendees must register in advance through the website to receive conference materials and meals.
Presenters, judges, moderators, attendees, committee members and guests must register separately.
Registration is OPEN!
Symposium Participant Registration Fee
The presenter (or advisor for student presentations) of each presentation should submit their abstract from the abstract submission page which is accessible from the link sent after you register.
Each person attending must independently register. Registration includes the cost of conference registration, materials and meals.
The registration fee is $50.00 per student for non-UMES students, faculty and staff.
Payments are accepted through our Credit Card Mail In Form click here.
UMBC students – If you would like to submit an abstract and present at this symposium, please email promisestaff@gmail.com with your abstract and ALL the required information from the registration page in the same email. The PROMISE team will take care of the logistics of the participants from UMBC. There will be a bus from UMBC to UMES.

Submitters are required to compose and present their abstracts, posters, and presentations as described in the instructions posted here.

Poster Presentation Instruction
3MT Competition Rules and Judging Criteria
Students: Please note that your advisor MUST review and approve your abstract/presentation prior to submission. Please allow them at minimum a week before the deadline to make changes.
The presenter of each presentation/poster (or advisor for undergraduate student presentation/poster) must submit their abstract from the abstract submission page.
Only one submission per abstract. Please have all presenters register independently. Please have only one person submit the abstract and/or corrections. List all persons presenting in the comment box.
Once you are registered, you will receive an email with a link for submitting your abstracts. Please submit your abstracts from this link prior to the deadline.

Exhibitor and External Sponsor Registration Fee
Exhibitors may register through the UMES Graduate Office. Exhibitors and Sponsors may contact Mrs. Angela Young ( adyoung@umes.edu) at 410-651-7966, Asst. Chairperson. Exhibitor registration fee is $50. Exhibitors will be provided space for the set-up of a skirted display table on Tuesday April 16, 2019 by 7:30 AM (registration opens). The deadline for advanced exhibitor registration is March 30, 2019 at 11:59 pm.
To become an External Sponsor, donations of $100 will receive advertisement in the Program Book. Please contact Mrs. Angela Young ( adyoung@umes.edu) at 410-651-7966.
