Hey everyone!

With Spring 2024 course registration fast approaching, this GBM will be especially important! We will be reviewing what classes are part of UMBC's Pre-PT pathway and how they align with common DPT course requirements. We will also be going over the exact DPT admission requirements for the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES), University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), and the University of Delaware (UDPT). Each school has specific requirements not only for classes, but also GPA, GRE, letters of recommendation, and observation hours.

You apply to DPT schools a full year before you actually attend, so you may have less time than you think to work out your academic schedule. Come to our April GBM and we will do our best to answer any questions you might have, and keep you on track with your goals!

The meeting location will likely be SOND 112, but we will confirm closer to the date. We hope to see you all there!

Hello everyone!

We all know patients go to physical therapy to help recover from an injury, but what are some other major reasons people seek out the expertise of a physical therapist? Come find out during our next GBM on Monday, March 4th, from 12-1pm in SOND 112! We will be exploring the various benefits of PT, as well as revealing some upcoming plans we have for the club. Remember, this could count towards satisfying the GBM requirements for earning a Pre-PT Society graduation cord. We hope to see you all there!

Hello everyone!

We hope you enjoyed Winter Break! We're excited to announce that our first GBM will be held on Monday, February 12th, from 12-1pm. Our meeting location is SOND 112. We will be reintroducing our E-board officers, getting to know you all, going over some general goals for the semester, as well as learning some basic human anatomy. We hope to see you all there!

Hope everyone's break is going well! For one of our upcoming GBMs, we will be going over career growth and salaries in the PT industry. We will be sending in questions to some local PTs in different settings, some in an in-patient setting and some in an outpatient setting. Please send in any questions you would like us to ask! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their break! Looking forward to spending another semester with everyone!

Hello everyone!

Thank you to those who were able to come out to our last GBM of Fall 2023, and congratulations to the winner of our PT terminology game! We hope you all have learned some new things this semester about physical therapy and what it means to be a physical therapist. We can't wait to hear your suggestions on what you would like us to cover in the Spring, so stay tuned for a survey/questionnaire where you can share your ideas with us.

Hello all! We will be having our fourth and final GBM of the semester on November 22nd, from 12-1pm, in SOND 112. We’ll be covering basic PT terminology and abbreviations, and then playing an online interactive game to see how much you know/remember from the presentation! We have a UMBC Pre-PT metal water bottle for the winner.
