Third GBM 3/10/2023

Hey Pre-Pharmers! Though you may have already received a reminder through your UMBC email and the Pre-Pharmacy Society GroupMe, here's one last reminder that our third GBM is held 3/10/2023 at 12 PM. It will take place in Engineering 021, and the time and location for GBMs will be the same biweekly (every 2 weeks.)
This GBM will be based on the career paths of a pharmacist, such as further education or job specifications. The slides will be sent out in an email shortly after the general board meeting.

General Board Meeting 02/10/23

Hello Pre-Pharmers!
Hope the first week of classes went well. Just a reminder that the next general board meeting is tomorrow (2/10) from 12 PM-1 PM. This meeting will be in person in Engineering 021. We will be introducing our E-board members for this semester, discussing the future plans for the society, and any questions you may have regarding the society or Pre-Pharmacy!

Pre-Pharmacy 1st GBM of 2023!
Hello EveryoneHappy first week of school! First off, thank you all for completing the google form on your availability. I wanted to announce that for the remainder of the semester, the Pre-Pharmacy Society Group will be meeting on Fridays from 12-12:50 pm. Our first meeting will be in person with more detail to come very soon.
Next: For this year's involvement fest, The Pre-Pharmacy Society Group will be involved. Come meet our Board Members and learn more about our club on Wednesday, February 8th from 12-2 pm at the RAC. Hope to see all returning members and new members there.

Hey Pre-Pharmer’s!
We hope the beginning of your semester is going well! We are excited to invite you back for another fun-filled year with the Pre-Pharmacy Society! Please scroll all the way down to read everything, as it is all important!
This year, we will have fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and visits from pharmacy schools, so make sure to come out! Additionally, we will be offering a mentorship program with our E-Board, as well as mock interviews to help our pharmacy school applicants boost their confidence. If you know anyone interested in pharmacy, bring them too!
Meetings will be held on Mondays at 12pm on WebEx (with a few in-person). The Webex link will be sent out prior to the meetings, and it will also be in our Instagram bio @umbcprepharmacysociety! Below is picture with our GBM dates all in one place for your convenience.
However, our first meeting will be IN-PERSON. Join us for a mini-involvement fest and get to know our E-board face-to-face! Stay tuned for more info regarding time and place!

The Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising is awarding the Gowda Scholarship to prospective Pre-Pharmacy students. The Gowda Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to in-state students interested in pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, with preference given to residents of Prince George’s County or students who graduated from a high school in the county. First General Body Meeting!
Hey Pre- Pharmer's!,
E-Board is sending out a reminder that our first general body meeting (GBM) will be held virtually on Webex this Friday, February 11th at 12:00pm. This GBM will be mostly introductions of yourself, our officers, and a small discussion. We will also be answering any questions you guys have about our society as well as pharmacy related questions.

We will be discussing the life of a Pharmacy Technician, as well as what classes to take to prepare you for pharmacy school! A little update on our Mentorship program which will be in effect from now on into second semester. Each E-Board member has been assigned mentee's and should have either reached out to you already, or will be reaching out to you soon! We still have room left for other mentees so if you're interested please fill out the form that will also be linked below and we will assign you an E board mentor! Lastly, within the Mentorship program we are looking for future E-board members in which you will have the opportunity to shadow the position you're interested in! If being a part of UMBC Pre-Pharmacy Society E-board is something you would like to do, signing up for the mentorship program would be amazing!

Howard University Admissions Officer GBM
Good morning Pre-Pharmers!,
Our 4th General body meeting will be held Friday October 29th at 12:00pm. We will be having Mr Marlon who is an admissions officer from Howard University School of Pharmacy! He will be talking to us about admissions requirements, the process of applying, and answering any questions you have.
