Hi Everyone!


If you’re interested in running for E-Board of Pre-Law Society then you need to submit your platforms in this folder:

In these platforms, you need to:

  • Add a picture of yourself 

  • Why you’re running 

  • Which Positions you’re running for (up to two positions)

  • And who nominated you 

    • In order to run, you have to be nominated by a member of Pre-Law Society. That just means that you ask someone to nominate you and put that person's name at the top of your platform


The positions that are up for re-election are:


  • President

  • Vice-President

  • Treasurer 

  • Secretary

  • Public Relations

We're so excited to get started on our very first article for the UMBC Law Review Journal! This article will be in Restorative Justice, focusing on the connection between restorative justice and the rehabilitation of formerly incarcerated individuals. 

Please note that we will be starting writing for this article during the first week of January, before we get back to school for the semester. Our first article deadline will be in early February. Mack and Han will be working directly with the writers to support you in writing the article and ensuring deadlines are met. We're seeking a team of 4-5 writers for this first article, so there is plenty of support!

Meet Jonathan Glick, Esq., Director of Admissions, University of Maryland Carey School of Law, to learn more about applying to law school and the J.D. program at Maryland Carey Law.   

Jonathan will give a presentation on the law school application process, what admissions committees look for when reviewing applications, and application timelines.  

Jonathan will also be available to answer any questions you have about the admissions process.

Students who are planning to apply for Fall 2024 admission are strongly encouraged to attend!

Lunch & Learn with Scott Whittier: Attorney and UMBC Instructor

Scott Whittier has been a lawyer for 30 years (and he teaches in UMBC's Department of Information Systems).  He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, and has practiced law in a variety of contexts: at a big D.C. law firm, in-house at a large corporation, and now at the World Wildlife Fund. 

Professor Whittier will have a conversation with us, hearing your thoughts and questions about law school, your legal career, etc., and sharing ideas about charting your career path and finding your place in the law.
