Are you passionate about empowering aspiring and early-career women attorneys? Join Ms. JD as an Intern and contribute to our mission of supporting and advocating for women in the legal profession. Intern Duration: Spring Semester

About Ms. JD: 
Ms. JD envisions a world where every woman is afforded the opportunity to design and realize her legal career without limits. We aim to expand and sustain our efforts to eliminate barriers to a diverse pipeline of women in the legal profession by providing an accessible network of training, mentoring and support from pre-law through early career.

Internship Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and organizing events, workshops, and seminars aimed at supporting women attorneys.
  • Conduct research on relevant legal topics, industry trends, and best practices to enhance our resources.
  • Support fundraising initiatives through donor research, grant applications, and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with the team on various projects contributing to the organization's goals.

Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in a college or university program, pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit management or another related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for promoting gender equality and supporting women in the legal profession.

Stanford Law School is pleased to announce the launch of its Stanford Law Scholars Institute (SLSI).

Stanford Law School's Law Scholars Institute (SLLI) is a program to which any student currently enrolled in a community college or four-year university can apply. Applicants from communities that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession are encouraged to apply.

Law Scholars will participate in the Program over the span of several years, beginning with a one-week residential program at Stanford Law School during the summer of 2024 and continuing through the law school application process.

The fully subsidized one-week residential program will include housing on Stanford's campus, meals, a $3000 stipend to offset lost income, as well as travel to and from Stanford.

Following residency, Law Scholars will receive ongoing mentoring by Stanford law students, faculty, and staff as well as practitioners from a range of practice and geographic areas, the support of the community of Scholars, who will serve as peer coaches, and financial support for a LSAT preparation course.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
To be eligible to participate in SLS SLSI, you must be enrolled in a community college, college, or university and will, ideally, be a sophomore or junior in Fall 2024. You must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. All such students are invited to apply.

If you are not a US citizen, you will be responsible for ensuring that all immigration requirements, such as obtaining visas, are met in order to participate.

All selected Scholars must agree to comply with Stanford and local public health requirements related to COVID-19, including vaccination.

The deadline to submit applications is January 19, 2024, by 5:00 PM (Pacific).

Florida State University (FSU) College of Law's 2024 Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program

FSU is currently accepting applications for next summer's residential program that will provide students with an inside look at law school and the legal profession. 

The program will be hosted in-person on the FSU campus from May 21-June 14, 2024. FSU will provide room, board, books, and other program materials, as well as a $500 stipend to participants.

Sixty outstanding undergraduate students will be selected to participate in the 2024 program. They will join a network of more than 1,700 alumni, many of whom are practicing law in firms, agencies, organizations, and corporations across the country.  

 
The application deadline is March 29, 2024, however, FSU encourages students to apply early as they will begin reviewing applications next month.  


Eligibility

College students enrolled at two-and four-year institutions, in all majors and from all backgrounds, are invited to apply following their freshman year. FSU particularly welcomes students from groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession. Because one purpose of the program is to help students direct their remaining time in college to best prepare for law school, only rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to participate. Students who will have earned their bachelor's degree prior to the start of the program will not be eligible for admission.

The UMBC Law Review is seeking Managing Editors for two article topics for February: (1) Student Rights and Title IX at UMBC and (2) Chesapeake Bay Restoration.

Managing Editors are responsible for overseeing the writing of an article, adhering to citation guidelines, and will be involved in the writer selection process. 

Managing Editors will need to be available the week of January 29th to help select writers. The writing process for these articles will be from 2/2-3/3. 

Managing Editors will also be expected to meet with the writing team once a week to check in on article progress and work collaboratively with the team. They will also be expected to meet with Mack (Editor-in-Chief) throughout the month.
