First time to URCAD? Not sure where to start? Join your peers and CNMS Advising for an URCAD scavenger hunt!
Never heard of URCAD? It stands for Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day. It's a day for sharing what we all do on campus! There are hundreds of research posters, oral presentations, dance performances, films, interactive games, and much more, all presented by YOU, undergraduates at UMBC! This event brings together students in both research and artistic fields from all disciplines to showcase the amazing projects you've all been working on. Bring your friends! Family! Mentors! Come and be inspired!
The CNMS URCAD Scavenger Hunt will leave TLC (UC115) around 12:10 PM. Another group will leave at 12:20 PM, in case you miss us the first time. We'll be heading up to the ballroom (third floor of the UC) to check out research posters. It's a great way to see what research is taking place on campus, who is supporting it, and how YOU can get involved!

Individualized Study (INDS) in which you can design your own degree!
Select courses from across disciplines and merge them into a themed
degree plan. Stand out in the application process for jobs, grad schools, professional programs!

The PreMedical and PreDental Advising Office intends to host a student panel about clinical experience on Monday, April 15, 3-3:45pm, and we need your help! If you are currently involved in clinical experience and/or shadowing, and you are willing to share about your experiences and tips, please complete this form as soon as possible!
During the event, you and the other panelists would talk about what you do, how you got started, how the experience has influenced your decision to pursue your future career, tips for other students who are interested in clinical experience, etc. In addition to being helpful to students who are considering getting started in clinical experience, you may also find that it’s great practice for professional school admissions interviews!
Students from ALL career preparation pathways (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, and podiatry) are encouraged to apply! If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Huselton at HealthProAdvising@umbc.edu.

Spots still open: SOCY 396: Reflections on Service-Learning
Volunteer, Reflect, and Earn Credit
If you are interested in deepening self awareness through community engagement, consider signing up for SOCY 396 Reflections on Service-Learning and Community Engagement: A Sociological Perspective! This 3 credit Pass/Fail course has no exams or quizzes. Cumulative learning is demonstrated through creative expression. Please note that enrollment in the 0 credit PRAC 096 is a co-requisite of SOCY 396. In short, students participate in a semester of regular volunteer service at a community organization of their choosing (from a list of organizations found here) and further develop their understanding of service-learning and community engagement in SOCY 396.Because this course falls under the category of "Independent Study" it is still possible to enroll, but be sure to act quickly because the course begins on Wednesday, February 28th. Class meets every Wednesday from 11-11:50am. Please review the attached flyer. Veterinary Medicine Virtual and In-Person Fairs

The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) and the Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) are hosting two fairs in the near future.
On Thursday, March 28, 12-6pm EST, VMCAS will host a VIRTUAL Admissions Fair. This is an opportunity to chat live with admissions representatives, current students, and VMCAS representatives. Registration details
