This is an online course only being offered in the January term. The course studies various natural and manmade disasters, from 9/11 to Hurricane Katrina and the Sichuan Earthquake (China), in an effort to understand personal, political and policy dimensions of disaster preparation and response. The course is currently labeled as POLI 409 (you are able to take as many of those as you wish). If you are interested in seeing a detailed syllabus, please contact Dr. Grodsky at bgrodsky@umbc.edu.
