<Title>Pi Sigma Alpha Membership</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Membership for Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Honors Society for Political Science</div><div><br></div><div>The UMBC chapter for Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Honors Society for Political Science, is Omicron Eta. Our main activity is hosting an undergraduate research conference each April, which we have done over the past 10 years. Each year we have won a small national grant to hold the conference. Students who are already members or who are interested in joining and serving as officers should contact Professor Forestiere. We can increase the scope of our activities or concentrate on the conference. This is a student-run organization so students should determine its activities.</div><div><br></div><div>Qualifications for membership (lifelong, one-time application and fees): </div><div>Junior standing (at least 60 credits completed)</div><div>Ten credits of Political science credit completed, and at least one upper level course, with an average of at least B in the Political Science courses</div><div>GPA requirements: Juniors, minimum GPA 3.1, Seniors, minimum GPA, 3.3</div><div><br></div><div>Costs: </div><div>Membership (mandatory): $35</div><div>Pin (optional): $1</div><div>Regalia (optional): Cords, $17; Medallion, $17, both, $30</div><div><br></div><div>For 'everything' - membership, pin, cords, medallion: $66</div><div><br></div><div>If interested please pick up an application outside of Prof. Forestiere's door.     <div class="html-content"><h3><strong><em>Political Science Internships</em></strong></h3><p>The Political Science Department's internship programs combine academic study with practical work experience. </p><p>The Legal Internship Program places selected interns with judges and attorneys. </p><p>The Policy, Politics and Public Administration Internship Program places selected interns with local and state legislators, members of Congress, political parties, interest groups, think tanks, lobbyists, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. Interns:</p><ul><li><span>Work 15 hours per week at their internship placement</span></li><li><span>Take a class with other interns</span></li><li><span>Earn up to seven (7) 400-level credits</span></li><li><span>All internships and courses occur during the spring semester. Students receive credit for course work (POLI 438 or POLI 448), and also for practical work (POLI 401).</span></li></ul><p><span>Juniors and seniors from all majors with GPAs of 3.0 and higher are eligible.     <div class="html-content"><p><img src="http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/IMGs/logo_becas_eng.png" width="288" height="105" alt="" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto;"><br><br></p><p>The OAS Academic Scholarship Program (Regular Program), established in 1958, grants scholarships every year for the pursuit of Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees and Graduate Research leading to a university degree. The OAS Special Caribbean Scholarships Program (SPECAF), established in 1983, grants scholarships for the last two years of undergraduate studies to citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean OAS Member States, and Suriname. Both programs follow the <a href="http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/ManualofProcedures.pdf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">OAS Manual of Procedures for the Scholarship and Training Program</a>. </p><p>In addition to these programs the OAS, through its Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC), is able to offer other attractive scholarship opportunities for academic studies with the support of its partner institutions in the Americas and around the world.     will include assisting the Policy &amp; Administrative Manager in day to day
    tasks, and taking on assignments from the Executive Director and Director of

    responsibilities will be assisting with loan approvals, managing our loan
    database, assisting in policy writing, meetings, website design and event
    planning. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>Interns
    will have the opportunity to work with state legislators, and state and federal
    organizations on clean energy policy and initiatives throughout the state. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>*Duties
    will vary based on experience, expertise and availability. </span></p>
    
    <p><strong><u><span>REQUIREMENTS</span></u></strong></p>
    
    <p><span>No
    previous experience is required for this position. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>All
    candidates must be enrolled in an educational program at a university or
    community college, and have their own means of transportation to our office
    location in Annapolis, MD. </span></p>
    
    <p><span>There
    is no mandated time requirement as we are very flexible, but a time commitment
    between 10-24 hours a week is preferred. We will work with you and your
    schedule to create a program that works for you. </span></p>

    are looking for motivated, adaptive and innovative individuals to assist us in

    					<p><span>Delegate Clarence Lam (D - District 12, Howard and Baltimore Counties) is looking for part-time paid
    interns for the 2017 legislative session through the General Assembly internship program. Interns will
    gain valuable experience and knowledge of the legislative process in the Maryland General Assembly.
    Intern responsibilities include answering constituent phone calls, drafting responses to constituent
    emails and letters, assisting with the mail program, and assisting with administrative tasks. Interns will
    also have the opportunity to attend legislative hearings and perform legislative research.

    					<p><span>The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, excellent written and verbal

    The ACLU of Maryland seeks a dynamic individual to assist the Legal Department staff as 
    Temporary Legal Program Assistant.  The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of 
    Maryland is a nonBprofit organization that defends the civil rights and civil liberties of 
    Maryland's residents and visitors.  Our 21 staff members, along with several volunteers 
    and interns, work to achieve our mission using litigation, legislation and public 
    education on a broad range of constitutional issues, including racial justice, free speech,

    </span><span>The Temporary Legal Program Assistant, a position reporting to and working closely with 
    the Legal Administrator, staffs our Civil Rights Complaint Line, responds to all intakes, 
    provides paralegal and administrative support in cases, assists with our Election 
    Protection campaign, provides administrative support, and supervises interns and 
    volunteers who staff the Complaint Line and process intakes. <br>
