Happy Monday everyone, I hope you’ve had a relaxing and rejuvenating spring break!

Today, we will be talking about feelings of hope and despair in relation to politics society and progress, as well as trying to address these questions:

Is progress inevitable, is another world possible?

MLK said “the moral arch of the universe is long but bends torward justice” - but is that really something that can be counted on?

Many of the early Marxists believed that each form of society was an improvement on the one before it and eventually a truest democratic bottom-up society called socialism would emerge. But is this radical world truly destined to emerge? 

Will climate change kill us all before these changes could be made? 

Are we screwed? 

Does any of it matter?

Is progress and a better world inevitable or even possible?

Todays discussion is going to be a great refresher from break and will open your minds to new perspectives about the world.
