Congratulations to Asif Majid, recipient of the $5,000 Deborah and John Yeakel Fellowship! The award goes to a nominee pursuing graduate education in the fields of international relations, peace studies or conflict resolution. Valedictorian... and Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar at UMBC, he earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Global Peace Building and Conflict Management. He also wrote and presented his play This Moroccan Life, focusing on issues of social justice drawn from his experiences studying abroad in Morocco. Asif plans to attend Georgetown University for an M.A. in Conflict Resolution.
