<Title>SATURDAY TRAINING MODIFIED for "JUST ANNOUNCED!"</Title>

    <p><span><strong>Please note that Saturday, Feb. 9th's training has been shortened.  Training is now set for Friday, 1-5pm and Saturday, 9am-2pm.  Additionally, MCSR Executive Director Neil Irvin plans to welcome participants at Friday's training.  Please RSVP to Lori Hardesty at <a href="http://" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">lhardesty@umbc.edu</a>.</strong></span></p>

    <p><span>This spring, the non-profit organization Men Can Stop Rape
    (MCSR), Inc. seeks 4-6 male UMBC students to serve as Men Of Strength
    (MOST) Club Facilitators to work with young men regarding "attitudes and
    awareness about bullying and sexual harassment, healthy relationships, and masculinity." </span><span>MCSR is working</span><span> </span><span>with 2-3 sites in East Baltimore,which includes the Carmelo Anthony Rec Center. The hope
    is to recruit two males to co-facilitate these sessions.<span>  </span>Before the holiday break, MCSR hosted an Info
    Session to share more about this program.<span> </span></span></p>
    
    <p><span>In order to become a facilitator, you must complete a 1½ day
    training, and are expected to implement the curriculum each week (@ 2-3
    hours/week to include the time for travel). Sessions would take place this
    spring after school and would be during the week.  MOST facilitators would
    have the ability to be enrolled in the 096 Community Service &amp; Learning
    practicum through the Shriver Center, a zero-credit transcript notation for
    participating in this service-learning opportunity.  </span></p>
    
    <p><strong><span>Next Friday, 2/8
    (1-5pm) and Saturday, 2/9 (9am-4pm),</span></strong><span> Rhett Walker, MCSR Campus Training

              - Work with Impact Strategies Program

              - Help to strategize innovative ways to reach college age students.<br>

    <strong>Food Access Research</strong><br>
              - Aid as needed with the research of

<Title>Spring 2013 MechE Internship with Northrop Grumman</Title>

    <div class="html-content">Internships are a key strategy in the Electronic Systems (ES) sector college recruiting program.  Northrop Grumman offers a variety of challenging internships and co-ops for qualified students.<br> <br>This position offers the opportunity to work in the Hardware organization as part of the Test Engineering team.  The position consists of lower level design work, configuration updates and control, and assisting on engineering projects with some hands on work.  Ability to multi-task, organize small projects, and use tools is a plus.  Experience using MS Office tools, and some experience with CAD/CAM design tools, specifically Siemens NX (Unigraphics) will be helpful.<br> <br>Basic Qualifications:<br>Candidates must meet the following criteria:<br>Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program;<br>Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering;<br>Have at least a 2.8 (out of 4.0) overall GPA;<br>Registered with their respective college or university co-op office;<br>Available to work 15-19 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the Spring 2013 Semester.<br>US Citizenship required for this position<br><br>Preferred Qualifications:<br>Candidates that have completed at least their sophomore year of a Mechanical Engineering major are preferred.<br>Experience with MS Office tools and some experience with CAD/CAM design tools, specifically Siemens NX (Unigraphics)<br>Solid communication  and organizational skills evidenced by experience organizing small projects.</div>

    technologies/technology-supported strategies in the teaching of supplemental
    language arts.<span>  </span>In particular we are
    interested in understanding:<br>- What is the latest thinking on the use of
    stylus/handwriting on the i-pad?<br>- At what age is it appropriate to have students
    use keyboards (regular and virtual)?<span><span><span><br>- </span></span></span>Does it make sense to use the virtual keyboard
    with students or is it more appropriate to include a traditional external
    keyboard?<span><span><span><br>- 
    </span></span></span>Is there a difference in fluency or
    comprehension when reading from a screen vs. reading from paper<br>- Work
    with the program manager for language arts to demonstrate how the research
    findings are relevant to Sylvan’s programs.

    concrete manipulatives during instruction, practice, and assessment. When are

    of virtual construction and measurement tools in the learning of geometry
    concepts<br>- The role of scientific or graphing calculators
    in learning mathematics<br>- The use of simulations for the study of
    probability and statistics<br>- The role of games in learning mathematics<br>- At what mathematical level is it appropriate to
