UMBC Parking
Services is pleased to announce First-Year Resident Students (those with a valid F Permit) may park on the
main campus in any C Permit Space for the rest of the Spring Semester beginning April 18. Please
note, you must park in a legal C Zone space
or you will receive a citation. Posted signs will be enforced 24/7 even if the space falls in the C Zone. Reminder, this policy goes into effect Monday, April 18.
This policy will
remain in effect through the end of the semester. It is expected that
first-year students will be required to park in the Satellite Lot in the fall.

New MTA Stickers Now Available
Pick-Up Your Stickers at Parking Services
One of the great benefits available to full-time UMBC employees is free service from the MTA. For those of you who already have the sticker, you may have noticed that your sticker is set to expire later this month.
Good news! We have received the new stickers for this year and they are available for immediate pick-up. Stickers are available at the Parking Services Office, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.
Stickers are available to Regular Full-Time Staff/Faculty ONLY and entitle you to free services on the MTA buses, light rail and subway. Adjuncts, CI and CII employees are not eligible. This sticker also applies to the following commuter routes:- 210: Kent Island/Annapolis-Baltimore
- 310: Columbia-Baltimore/Johns Hopkins
- 320: Baltimore-Jessup/Columbia
- 410: Churchville/Bel Air-Baltimore/State Center
- 411: Hickory/Bel Air-Baltimore/Johns Hopkins
- 420: Havre de Grace-Baltimore/Johns Hopkins
When picking up your sticker, please bring your Campus ID so that we can verify your eligibility. If you have issues boarding or questions from drivers regarding the service, please email us at parking@umbc.edu.

Poplar Avenue Parallel Parking Spaces Removed
Spaces Between Center and Park Effected
This January, a change was made to the parking layout on Poplar Avenue. Students will no longer be allowed to parallel park from the top of Poplar Avenue (where Poplar and Center meet) to the crosswalk just before you reach Park Road.
These spaces were C Spaces but have been removed. Those who park there will receive citations.

New Student Parking Permits Now Available
All Students, Staff and Faculty Must Have A Parking Permit
New students at UMBC must have a parking permit to park on campus. Students parking on campus during the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, without a permit will be cited.
Students will be issued either an A Permit (Commuter Student), B Permit (Walker Avenue Apartments Resident), C Permit (Residential Student) or F Permit (First-Year Resident - Park at the Satellite Lot at 1450 South Rolling Road). Students must park in their appropriate zone.
How do you get your permit? Please visit the
UMBC Parking Portal to secure your permit. Once in the portal, you will register your vehicles (you may register up to three but may only have one on campus at a time) and then click on get permit. You must be registered for class to get a permit.
All student permits will expire on August 14, 2022. Additionally, permits are virtual. There is nothing to display. Our enforcement agents will scan your plate to confirm you have a parking permit.

Those who utilize the lower level at the Administration Garage in the evenings are asked to park on the top level of this garage until the gate has been fixed. A service call has been placed but an exact date for the repairs in not known at this time.

Construction Project Temporarily Eliminates Spaces in Lot 8
Project to Close Seven Spots from 10/18-10/22
Contractors will be on campus next week to restore the storm water management facility adjacent to Lot 8. The staging area for the project will require the closure of approximately 7 spaces in Lot 8.

The road will be closed to allow crews to seal and line the street. Please note, all vehicles must be removed by 11:59 PM on Friday. Normal traffic patterns will resume on Saturday at 5 PM.

Construction activities related to the stream restoration and UMBC Stadium Complex will begin the week of September 13. The project consists of improvements to portions of a tributary of the West Branch of Herbert Run, general landscape improvements and new accessible walkway and pedestrian bridge between Hilltop Circle and the UMBC Stadium Complex. The project completion is expected summer 2022.
Construction fencing will be installed around the construction area for the duration of the project. The fencing will impact access to the stadium through existing pedestrian walkways and tunnel at Hilltop Circle. Access to the stadium from Hilltop Circle will be maintained via the walkway adjacent to the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena for the duration of the project. Pedestrian access to the bwtech Research Park will be maintained via the existing pedestrian bridge near CERA pond.
Construction vehicle entrances from Hilltop Circle will require closure of up to eight parking spaces along the outer loop of Hilltop Circle. Portions of sidewalk at the construction vehicle entrances will also need to be closed for the duration of construction. Signage will direct pedestrians around these closures, via accessible routes.

Not Too Late to Get Your Permit
Students, Staff and Faculty Must Have Permits
As we celebrate the start of another school year, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that any student, staff or faculty member must have a valid UMBC Parking Permit to park on campus.
Students may now secure their parking permit at the UMBC Parking Portal. Student permits will be valid fthrough August 14, 2022.
Staff and Faculty (Payroll Eligible) must submit new Payroll Deduction Forms immediately to ensure valid permits can be issued. Parking enforcement staff will enforce parking permits this week.
