Food For Fines Fall 2024
Donate Five Items and We Reduce One Citation to a Warning
UMBC Parking Services is proud to team up with Retriever Essentials for the return of the Food for Fines Donation Program. This program is scheduled to run from November 4 to November 15.
How does this work? Donate any five non-perishable food items or five toiletry items and we will reduce one citation (up to a $50 violation) to a warning. Items needed include:
1 - Protein-Based Non-Perishable Items
2 - Microwaveable Foods (Not just Ramen)
3 - Protein Shakes and Bars
4 - Shelf-stable Milk
5 - Toothpaste, Shampoo and Soap
Please note...we can no longer accept Toilet Paper and Paper Towels.
All items should be donated at Parking Services (900 Walker Avenue, Suite 107). All donations must be new and unopened. Donations will be accepted from 8 AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday, in our offices. We are closed for lunch from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
Please help us help those in need. No one should go hungry!

UMBC Fall Career and Internship Fair to Close Spaces on Top of Administration Garage and Lot 29
Closure Impacts 50 Spaces on Top of Admin & All of Lot 29
The UMBC Career Center will be hosting their annual Fall Career and Internship Fair tomorrow, Wednesday, September 18. This event is highly anticipated by recent and upcoming graduates and helps pave the way for career opportunities.
As a result of the fair, Parking Services will need to close 50 spaces on the top of the Administration Garage and all of Lot 29. This will not affect the accessible spaces in the Administration Garage.
We also realize parking has been quite tight this semester. Please note, if you typically park in Lot 29, you may also park in Lot 25 or 31. In addition, for tomorrow only, you may park in the top portion of the C Zone by the campus apartments.

Part of Lot 2 to be Closed This Wednesday Morning
Accessible Parking Unaffected
On Wednesday, July 17, Environmental Health and Safety will be removing the Emergency Generator Tank from the Loading Dock area of the Physics Building.
This project is expected to be completed early Wednesday afternoon and will require the closing of approximately 40 spaces.
Due to the lower demand in summer, parking should be readily available for those who use Lot 2. Parking Services will have an enforcement agent on-site to answer any questions.
Please note, accessible spaces will not be affected by this closure.

Gate Card Holders Should Expect Ample Parking
Beginning on Monday, July 8, 2024 through Friday, August 16, 2024, the Administration Drive Parking Garage will be partially closed to complete maintenance repairs. The partial closure will be carried out in Two Phases.
Phase 1 - Monday, July 8, 2024 through Sunday, July 28, 2024
The western half of the Administration Parking Garage top and bottom, as well as the vehicular entrance from the circle, will be closed. Access to the upper garage during Phase 1 will be provided by the ramp access on the eastern end of the garage (via Administration Drive). The President’s Office visitor parking spaces and the ADA parking spaces will be temporarily relocated to the eastern half of the parking garage. ADA signage will be posted to designate the ADA parking areas. Lower garage access is not changed during Phase 1 and the western half of the lower level parking area will be closed for construction. Parking on the lower garage will be available on the eastern end only during Phase 1. Signage and barricades will separate the available parking from the construction areas.
Phase 2 - Monday, July 29, 2024 until end of day on Friday, August 16, 2024
The eastern half of the parking garage top and bottom levels and the ramp entrance to the upper garage will be closed. Access to the upper garage area will be restored to the circle as well as the original ADA and presidents office visitors parking spaces will also be restored to original locations. Lower level entrance will still be open during Phase 2 but parking on the lower level will be reduced. Signage and construction barricades will be utilized to separate parking area from the areas under construction.
Access Signage will be provided around the impacted areas concerning the parking area, pedestrian and ADA access. Accessibility is part of the design process, and we work in partnership with Accessibility and Disability Services which supports faculty, staff, students and visitors with disabilities. Lot 8 Space Closure on July 2
Significant Portion of Lot to be Unavailable
On Tuesday, July 2, a significant portion of Lot 8 will be closed so that Facilities Management can remove a temporary trailer at the UMBC Police Station. The east and north sections of Lot 8 will be closed for the entire day in order to allow construction vehicles to navigate through the area.
A smaller portion will remain open. Overflow parking will be available in Lot 22 (directly across Hilltop Circle from Lot 8) during this time. Signs will be posted to direct vehicles through the area and Facilities Management,
Parking Services and UMBC Police staff will be onsite to help direct traffic. The accessible parking spaces on the PAHB side of Lot 8 will not be affected by this closure.
Accessibility is part of the design process. Facilities will work in partnership with Accessibility and Disability Services to ensure accessible parking needs are met. Top of Administration Garage to be Closed on Tuesday
Accessible Parking Spaces Will Not be Affected
The top level of the Administration Garage will be closed on Tuesday, June 4 for a special event. This closure will remain in effect for the entire day. The Administration Garage will reopen to all visitors on Wednesday. Accessible parking will remain open at all times to anyone who needs these spaces.
Visitors coming to campus may still utilize the Commons Garage, Walker Avenue Garage and Lots 7 and 9. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Facilities Management to Begin Lighting Project Monday
Project to Include the Closure of Up to 50 Spaces Each Day
On Monday, April 15, Facilities Management will kick-off a lighting project on Hilltop Circle between Commons Drive and Poplar Avenue. As a result, Parking Services will need to take approximately 50 spaces out of service each day of the project.
The closed spaces will change as they progress through the project. If you typically park in this area and find there are no spaces available on Hilltop Circle, we ask that you park in the Stadium Lot. The good news is there is always ample parking available in this lot. We have attached a map of the affected area.

Anyone who signs-up will receive a t-shirt and other bike related giveaways. We will also have a bike expert from The Cycle Mill to take a look at your bike to ensure it is safe for the season. You can also stop by OCA Mocha and purchase breakfast.

The top of the circle has been a source of safety and access concerns. Vehicles parking in the crosswalk lead to concerns for pedestrians. In addition, those parking at the bottom of the circle make it challenging for delivery, service and emergency vehicles.
