    <div class="html-content">The Albin O. Kuhn Library &amp; Gallery at UMBC has announced new Research Data Services and Digital Scholarship Services, please see the information below. <div><br></div><div><div><p><strong>New! </strong></p><ul><li>UMBC now has open access agreements with some publishers: <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1380535" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">UMBC Open Access Agreements</a>.</li><li>Pending the approval of the President, UMBC now has an <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/UMBC-Open-Access-Policy" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Open Access Policy</a>.</li></ul><p><strong>ScholarWorks@UMBC</strong></p><p>The Library will add works to <a href="https://mdsoar.org/handle/11603/14" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">ScholarWorks@UMBC</a> for
     you. If you've previously sent a list of publications, or link to a 
    list of publications, you don't need to do anything. Each year, we'll 
    automatically add your new works, contacting you for anything we need. </p><p>If we've not yet gone through your works, please send me any of the following:</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p>·   <strong>A list of your published works </strong>(including
     works before you were at UMBC). You can send a link to a publications 
    website, a public Google Scholar page, your CV, or just paste a list 
    into an email.</p><p> </p><p>·  <strong>Your unpublished works</strong> with the files attached. These can be <strong>reports, lab notes, data, presentation slides, posters, etc.</strong> </p><p> </p><p>·  <strong>Links to</strong> <strong>free articles or papers about you, your work, your department, program, lab, or center </strong>or <strong>about UMBC</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>·  <strong>The name and email address of</strong> <strong>students who have done</strong> <strong>outstanding papers or projects</strong> <strong>for one of your classes, and we'll include their work in ScholarWorks@UMBC</strong>.      come to your class or your lab meeting to give your students an 
    overview of best data management practices for research replication. </p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Guide to Research Data</strong></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p>Information on where to <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=7854122" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">find data</a>, and how to <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=7854123" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">cite data</a>. Additionally, we have information on topics in research data management, such as <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=7854128" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">data management plans</a>, <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=7854129" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">documentation, file organization and version control</a>, and <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=7854137#s-lg-box-26061728" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">repositories for sharing data</a>. Finally we provide information on several free tools for <a href="https://lib.guides.umbc.edu/c.php?g=1078066&amp;p=8197208" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">data integration, analysis and visualization</a>. </p><p><strong>Data Management and Sharing Support for NIH PIs </strong></p><p>Michelle Flinchbaugh, <a href="mailto:flinchba@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">flinchba@umbc.edu</a>, can provide hands-on assistance with: </p><p>•      Projecting the cost of data management and sharing</p><p>•      Data management planning and plans</p><p>•      Project and data documentation</p><p>•      Organization of files and folders</p><p>•      Data collection, storage, and back-up</p><p>•      Data description</p><p>•      Data sharing and preservation</p><p><strong>Lab Archives</strong></p><p>UMBC has an institutional subscription to <a href="https://www.labarchives.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Lab Archives</a>. It
     allows you to organize and share your research notes and data with your
     research group so that you can easily work together and communicate. It
     includes access control, change history, disaster-recovery back-ups, 
    and more. For free access via the UMBC subscription using your myUMBC 
    login, when you login, select UMBC from the list of institutions with 
    single sign-on access.</p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)</strong></p><p>UMBC has a membership in ICSPR,
     an international consortium of about 700 academic institutions and 
    research organizations. ICPSR provides leadership and training in data 
    access, curation, and methods of analysis for the social science 
    research community. ICPSRmaintains a data archive of more than 500,000 
    files of research in the social sciences. UMBC's
     membership gives all authorized library users free full access. Be sure
     you use your UMBC email address when creating an account to be 
    authenticated as a member. ICPSR offers 15,000+ Studies from 40 social and behavioral science disciplines and much more.      Time! There are a bunch of fast and easy ways to quickly load lots of 
    your works' citations into ORCID then into Digital Measures. Many 
    publishers and professional organizations can also automatically load 
    materials into ORCID for you if you give them permission. <a href="https://orcid.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">ORCID</a> is
     a type of author identifier, so be sure to use the form of your name 
    that you prefer to use on publications and to give the University of 
    Maryland, Baltimore County as your employer. For more information on

    Personal and Contact Information, and other Digital Measures items you
