The 2023 Region II Program Committee is pleased to invite submissions for session proposals for the in-person Region II Fall Meeting in Annapolis MD, on November 12-15, 2023.

When thinking of potential topics, please keep in mind topics related to the current challenges faced by research administrators in this new era for our field. 

If you have a topic for a session and/or would like to submit a proposal, please visit the call for proposals  page to submit the idea/proposal to the Program Committee for consideration. If you have more than one topic or session proposal, please submit a new form for each. 

The Program Committee is also inviting submissions for session presenters who would like to be paired with others for the Region II Fall Meeting. Please visit the call for presenters page to complete the needed information.

·         Revising the NIH/AHRQ/NIOSH Post-Submission Material Policy

In response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, NIH implemented a special exception for post-submission material, allowing a one-page update of preliminary data as post-submission material to specified notices of funding opportunity (NOFOs) (see latest in series of exception notices NOT-OD-23-066). The Public Health Emergency is due to end on May 11, 2023 (see NOT-OD-23-095). For applications submitted for the May 25, 2023 receipt date and beyond, that special exception is ended and is replaced by the following policy.

For applications submitted for the May 25, 2023 receipt date and beyond, NIH, AHRQ, and NIOSH will accept a one-page update with preliminary data as post-submission material for Type 1 R01, R21, or R03 applications, including resubmissions, if the NOFO used for submission allows preliminary data in the application. Because applications for emergency competitive revisions and urgent competitive revisions undergo expedited review, post-submission materials will not be accepted for those applications.

Purpose

·         NIH Redesign of the xTrain Module in eRA Commons

 Purpose:

After extensive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholder groups the xTrain module in eRA Commons has been redesigned. The module is adopting the new visual appearance of other eRA modules with enhanced security and stability.  This update is anticipated to be released on March 30, 2023.

Significant changes will include the following:

·         Trainee Signatures to be Required on Reappointments and Amendments

·         Deletion of Forms

·         Change of Recipient Organization (Type 7) and Successor-In-Interest/Name  Change (Type 6) Actions:
