The New Student Success Team is looking for students who want to assist in the transition for new students to UMBC.     <div class="html-content"><p><span>UMBC SGA's Senate &amp; Finance Board have vacancies for the Spring 2017 semester!</span></p><br><p><span>We are currently seeking motivated students interested in working on initiatives with the UMBC campus to make positive change.</span></p><br><p><span>Senate meets every Monday evening at 5:30pm, meetings are held in Commons 318. You will be required to stay for the duration of the meeting, which have no end time and have been know to run as late as 11:00pm. In addition to attending meetings, Senators are required to be a member of at least two Shared Governance Committees on campus that meet at various times, and work on initiatives around campus.</span></p><br><p><span>Finance Board meets every Tuesday evening at 5:30pm, also in Commons 318. The Finance Board has openings for both Finance Board Members and First Year Ambassadors.     <div class="html-content">The Student Events Board (seb) is UMBC’s programming board - that means we are responsible for planning campus events, including live music, weekly movies, bus trips, arts, creative events, comedy shows, and much more. We are also tasked with Welcome Week, many parts of Homecoming, and UMBC’s Spring festival, Quadmania. <div><br></div><div>(seb) is comprised of a large group of diverse students that work together to plan events and cultivate the social culture at UMBC. Within this group, we have volunteer members that provide the creative energy and enthusiasm needed to make our events possible, event programmers that handle the logistical planning, running, and hosting of events from start to finish, and designers and marketers that create posters, manage event promotions, and think of alternative marketing ideas. (seb) is looking to welcome so new faces to our team and we would like to invite you, the UMBC campus community, to join the board. </div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>(seb) executive board positions are compensated positions and each new hire will be required to make a minimum time commitment of 10 hours per week, in addition to extra hours for </span>events<span> and big weekends like Homecoming and Quad</span>mania<span>. In order to be eligible for this position, you must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5, and you may not hold a position within Residential Life. The application process is further described below. </span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><div><br></div><div>1) Completed applications must be submitted by April 1st, 2016 with resume attached. Late applications will not be accepted.</div><div><br></div><div>2) Applicants will be notified if they are moving forward to the group interview process within a week. Group interviews will take place Sunday April 10th from 11 am - 2 pm.</div><div><br></div><div>3) Individual interviews will be held by appointment on Saturday April 16th and Sunday April 17th.</div><div><br></div><div>4) Applicants will be notified by April 18, 2016 regarding final hiring decisions.</div></div><div><br></div><div>If you are a motivated student who is excited about the idea of becoming a part of campus event planning and you meet the above criteria, we would love to have you apply at the link below. <Title>Apply to be Senate or Finance Board Secretary!</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p><span>The 2015-2016 Senate and Finance Board are currently seeking a qualified candidates to fulfill</span><span> the position of Secretary to take minutes at all official meetings. </span></p><p><span>The Senate is SGA's engine for collecting ideas from students and turning them into campus change initiatives.  Members meet weekly (Mondays at 5:30 p.m.) to discuss and develop initiatives, talk with campus administrators and take positions on issues.</span></p><p><span>The Finance Board is the branch of SGA that provides funds to support student organization activities: nearly $200,000 this year.  Most of the Finance Board's work is done at weekly meetings, where student organization leaders present requests and Finance Board members ask questions and make decisions.  These meetings, which take place Tuesdays starting at 5:30 p.m., can be both long and intense.
