This email is a reminder that we’re a two days away from our "3 Minute Thesis / The Gritty Talks Training Session", where attendees will get tips regarding media training, public speaking, and learn how to properly express an idea in a short period of time.
The workshop is open to all graduate students at UMBC. However, it is well suited for students who are interested in participating in 3 Minute Thesis, PowerPoint Roulette, The Gritty Talks, or Ideathon events.

In observance of National STI Awareness Month, join us and the Baltimore County Department of Health for our HIV/AIDS Testing Event. HIV/AIDS impacts us across gender and sexual identities, race, and class, so it is important to get tested and know your status. Visit our Relaxation Zone in the Center for Well-Being Lobby to learn more about HIV/AIDS prevention while waiting for your test results.

Session Focus: Inclusive Hiring in DoSA - This session is specifically designed for search committee members and search committee chairs. We will talk through the Inclusive Hiring toolkit and expectations for Divisional searches. We will also explore the impact of bias on hiring processes and how to mitigate bias impact.

The GEARS in collaboration with Scott Morgan, President of The Morgan Group of Washington is hosting a virtual leadership workshop titled "3 Minute Thesis / The Gritty Talks Training Session" on November 17th, at 9:30 am.

The workshop is open to all graduate students at UMBC. However, it is well suited for students who are interested in participating in 3 Minute Thesis, PowerPoint Roulette, The Gritty Talks, or Ideathon events.
