Emerging Leaders is a day long experience for students who are interested in developing their leadership capacity and learning more about the Social Change Model (SCM) of Leadership Development.  SCM at it's core, approaches leadership as a purposeful, collaborative, values-based process that results in positive social change.

Students interested in this experience should be prepared to engage with material that asks them to be introspective, name their values, share in brave spaces, and value the voices of other participants.

Participants do not need to hold leadership positions or be heavily involved on campus. In fact, we encourage new first year, transfer students, and new members and new student leaders of student organizations to attend this experience as it can serve as your orientation to leadership and involvement at UMBC.

This experience is designed for Undergraduate Students.

The Multicultural Leadership Experience (MLE) is a collaboration between Campus Life and Initiatives for Identity Inclusion & Belonging (i3B), that seeks to: 

Engage participants in a multicultural development and leadership learning program; 
Enhance participants' understanding of their social identities, leader identity, as well as their capacity to lead; 
And enable participants' development through authenticity, self-awareness, relationships, and capitalizing on difference.

Involvement Fest is quickly approaching. commonvision (UMBC Design and Print Center) is here to help with your Involvement Fest prints! 

UMBC (and commonvision) is closed Monday, September 4 for Labor Day. This gives commonvision 2 full business days to print materials needed for your clubs. Please note at this time, we can offer flyers and quartercards for Involvement Fest. Other services will have a turnaround time that extends beyond Involvement Fest. 

For best consideration, please submit your flyers and quartercards by 5 p.m. Friday, September 1 via commonvision@umbc.edu. Any clubs using carryover funds will need to provide us with a completed RESGAF before printing will begin. Please note outside of chartstrings/club funds we only accept retriever dollars on your campus card.

Something to consider is printing a couple flyers that stay at your table that contain a QR code to your organization's myUMBC group. This may help us to cut down on printing demand and make sure that even if you run out of materials, you still have something people can scan.
