Across all of these countries, the importance of gathering with family and loved ones can be seen.

Each country has its own name or reference for the Mid Autumn Festival, here are some of them (for additional viewing, please see the attached photo):

中秋节 (Zhōngqiū Jié) & 中秋節 (Jūng-chāu Jit) (Mandarin | Cantonese)

Tết Trung Thu & The Children’s Festival (Vietnamese | Vietnam)

추석 / 한가위 (Chuseok / Hangawi) (Korean)

月見 (Tsukimi)(Japanese)

Lantern Festival (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia) (note: Not the same as the Lantern Festival that takes place on the 15th day of the first month of the Lunar calendar)

Moon Festival | Mooncake Festival (Hong Kong and also other Asian countries such as Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia)

During the Mid Autumn Festival, you will find many people eating and gifting Mooncakes, a pastry filled with different rich flavors such as red bean or lotus. We'll discuss both full-time and internship roles in fields such as IT, hardware engineering, and others.

Technical Interview Workshop

Are you gearing up for technical interviews this fall? Whether you’re interested in our STEP Internship (for 1st and 2nd years), Software Engineering Internship (for 3rd years) or our full-time SWE roles, you may want to brush up on those interview skills. Join us for mock questions and tips!

Diversity at Google

Diversity, equity, and inclusion will always be priorities at Google as we strive to build technology for everyone. Belonging broadens our understanding of these measures, by providing a universal and human “why,” and an invitation to go one step further. Not only are we committed to building equity where the greatest barriers exist, belonging also asks us to build bridges that connect everyone and envision a future where we all have what we need to thrive.

Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors. If you would like to request accommodations (e.g., ASL interpreters, captioning, wheelchair access, etc.) for this event, please notify us at least two weeks prior to the event. Requests received after that time cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to make arrangements for program access. Please contact the event host (careers@umbc.edu) with your specific request and be sure to include the event title, date, and time.
