About the Facilitator:
Zoonash Syed (She/Her/Hers) is a Senior Pre-Law Public Health major on the Administration track at UMBC. Outside of UMBC, she enjoys watching shows as well as listening to music. Zoonash believes that leadership is about setting a responsible example for her peers as well as encouraging those around her to speak their minds. Her goals as a Leadership Peer Facilitator is to promote the multiple perspectives of what leadership can entail. Aside from being a Leadership Peer Facilitator, Zoonash takes part in SGA as a Senator, and is doing research work that will be presented at URCAD.
About the Leadershop:
Stressed? Self-care is necessary in preventing burn-out. Therefore, rest and relaxation IS productive. Join us as we resist hustle-culture in order to show up as our best selves!
Ice-Breaker: Are you a talker or a listener?
Although I’d argue both, I’d say I’m much more of a talker! I’m used to giving advice to my friends and providing comfort through words. However, I’ve learned that some people don’t appreciate this style of communication, and would prefer me to listen more. I hope to improve my listening skills more!
The Leadershops series consists of 1 hour workshops that focus on various student centered leadership-related topics facilitated by Campus Life staff and Leadership Peer Facilitators. This program aims to contribute to the leadership development and ongoing learning of UMBC undergraduate students.

Information and Resources: DOJ and Title IX Investigation
Dear Graduate Students,
It is deeply important for me to share with you the resources available to the UMBC campus as we all process the DOJ and Title IX Investigation in our own way and on our own time.
Please take care of yourself and others if you have the space and are in a place to do so.

Dissertation Fellowship Application Deadline: April 26, 2024
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to inform you about the upcoming Dissertation Fellowship application deadline on Friday, April 26, 2024.
The Dissertation Fellowship is designed to provide doctoral candidates at UMBC with an opportunity to devote the necessary concentration and attention towards finishing the writing of their dissertations. The Fellowship is specifically designed for students with full-time jobs off-campus, for those without any financial support who are making steady progress with their writing, and for whom having additional time and resources would permit them to complete the process more expeditiously.
An announcement was sent out to graduate students via the Graduate School at UMBC group on March 13, 2024, detailing the application process and eligibility requirements. I encourage you to share this information with anyone who might benefit from this fellowship opportunity.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Mosaic Delayed Opening
Monday, March 25, 2024
Good morning, Mosaic Community!
Welcome back to campus, post-spring break. The Mosaic will have a delayed opening today, Monday, March 25, 2024. We will open today at 11:15 am due to a staff development meeting. The Mosaic will resume regular opening hours tomorrow, March 26, 2024. Please see below for our spring hours.
- Mondays: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 10:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
- Fridays: 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
- Weekends & University Holidays: Closed
