No Service - Greene St & Fayette St (UMB) - Downtown Route
Beginning Monday, July 15, 2019
Beginning Monday, July 15, 2019, UMBC Transit will be unable to service stop #5. Greene St & Fayette St (UMB) on the Downtown route. Construction is scheduled to begin at the
Biomedical Research Facility. While this is taking place, riders are encouraged to utilize
stop #6. Greene St & Lombard St (UMB). For further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Transit Tips:
- Please do not run to catch your bus. Allow yourself extra time to walk to your local bus stop and exercise caution when boarding UMBC Buses.
MARC Service this evening on all lines may be affected by multiple small but severe storm cells passing through the area. Severe thunderstorm warnings have already been issued for much of the MARC service area, primarily focused toward the areas serviced by the Brunswick Line.
Situations such as high winds and flood conditions can cause significant delays to train service. Additionally, downed trees across the tracks are a common occurrence after high-wind events.
MARC will closely monitor the weather situation this evening and work closely with our host railroads to minimize delays to the fullest extent possible. Passengers are asked to closely monitor the MARC Service Alerts (via text, email, and Twitter) for up-to-date information as this evening's service begins and the storm situation develops further.

OCSS' Housing Bus Tour is a resource to help current and future commuter students in viewing housing properties around campus. We will be visiting 3 properties that are accessible through one of our UMBC Transit lines. This event is free to anyone interested. DETOUR Downtown Route - Road Closures
Portions of Pratt St., Howard St., & Conway St. Closed
Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Due to yesterday's flooding downtown Baltimore, several streets including portions of Pratt St., Howard St., and Conway St. has been closed due to road repairs and construction. While this is taking place, significant delays are expected on the Downtown route. UMBC Transit will be unable to service the following stops:

As we continue to provide food for our students over the summer, we are in short supply of the above-referenced items.
For cereals we prefer healthy, non-sugar sweetened such as Cheerios, plain oatmeal or Chex, and for canned fruit, either packed in its own juice or made with Splenda. However, we accept all types of food.
Please drop off at any donation box on campus (Admin across from elevators on first floor, Commons by windows across from reception desk and Library to the right as you walk in).

UMBC Transit CLOSED - Independence Day - 07.04.19 & 07.05.19
This is a reminder that UMBC Transit is closed - Thursday, July 4, 20019 & Friday July 5, 2019 in observance of Independence Day. Regular service to resume Saturday, July 6, 2019.

1. Baltimore Link
Beginning July 1, 2019 a new law provides free ridership services for all regular USM faculty and staff members on the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) light rail transit system, metro subway, local bus service, commuter bus service in the Baltimore region, and any other system and service specified by the MTA.
The MTA has created a sticker that can be affixed to university employee identification cards. In order to access transit, employees are required to present their university ID badges with the sticker. The institution is in the process of purchasing the stickers for employees who wish to participate in the program. Parking Services will be coordinating efforts with the MTA on the sticker purchase. Employees wishing to obtain a sticker may contact Parking Services for more details.
In the meantime, employees wishing to take advantage of this benefit before the stickers are available may obtain a State ID badge that will allow them to access the participating transit vehicles. In order to obtain the ID card, employees must complete the Maryland Capitol Police ID Request Form and take it, in person, to: |

A Chance to Help People Facing Homelessness in Baltimore
Drop off care kits at the Shriver Center now to 7/23
The Shriver Center and UMBC Transit have organized a restaurant week to provide hundreds of individuals facing homelessness in Baltimore with a restaurant experience at Tabrizi's. The goal is to send every person home with a care kit, and that's where you come in.
If you want to help, drop off a care kit(s) at the Shriver Center between now and July 23.
Kits should include:
- Toiletry items: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, razor, toothpaste, toothbrush (full-size preferred)
- Socks
- Soft snacks, e.g. breakfast and cereal bars
- Other potential items include: feminine hygiene products, lip balm, mouthwash
This is a reminder that UMBC Transit is closed - Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day. Regular service to resume Tuesday, May 28, 2019 with the Summer 2019 schedule.
