Beginning in Fall 2023, UMBC Transit will provide weekday access to the Route 40/Ellicott City communities. Historically, this route had been a weekend-only route that accommodated shopping options for our students during the weekends. With an increased number of  Graduate and undergraduate students living in the Route 40 and Ellicott City community, the requests for weekday access have also grown.

This transportation route gives students a dependable means of getting to and from campus on weekdays and weekends. Along the way, you'll pass through a vibrant network of shopping centers, international markets, apartments, homes, and eateries.
