BWI MARC & Arundel/MARC: Modifications - Effective 11.13.23
Schedule Realignment ~ MTA 201 & MARC Train
Hello Retrievers,
We are pleased to inform you of some significant changes to our BWI MARC and Arundel/MARC routes to enhance your commuting experience. Beginning Monday, November 13, 2023, we have made several modifications to the BWI MARC route schedule to better align with the MTA 201 Commuter bus and MARC Train schedules. These adjustments have been carefully planned to improve connection times, ensuring a more seamless and efficient travel experience.
Our commitment to offering reliable and convenient transportation options remains at the forefront of our service. We understand the significance of well-coordinated schedules, especially for our daily commuters. These changes are designed to minimize wait times and optimize your journey, making your commute smoother and more enjoyable.

We are excited to announce an update to the Paradise Route – Stop #17, Maiden Choice Lane & Wilton Overlook. Effective immediately, we have added a new stop at Maiden Choice Lane & Wilton Overlook to serve our community better. This new stop is strategically located to provide convenient access for residents living in the Broadfield Community at Maiden Choice Lane & Laurence Brooke Road and those heading to the Maiden Choice Medical Center.
The introduction of this stop reflects our commitment to enhancing the accessibility and convenience of our transportation services. We understand the importance of providing reliable transportation options for our residents, and adding this stop aims to simplify your daily commute and improve overall accessibility to essential services.

Retriever Essentials team is runner-up in nat'l competition
Addressing world hunger

Retriever Essentials, represented by student volunteers Nhi Nguyen '25, biochemistry and bioinformatics, and Ben Bhattarai '23, biology and psychology, is a second place finalist in the 2023 Wilbur Ellis Innovation Award. Announced at the end of September, the honorable mention award--given to only four schools--recognizes the student teams with the most innovative strategies for providing food for a growing world population.
Nguyen and Bhattarai's proposal aimed to address the water scarcity in agriculture which affects the ability to feed a growing world population sustainably. Their project proposed the use of halophytic (salt-tolerant) algae to desalinate saltwater in order to increase freshwater availability to enhance agricultural yields and to create highly nutritious food products. Nguyen and Bhattarai believe their project also may help resolve some of the impacts of global warming on food production and transportation, including the growth of algae; limited fossil fuels; and ocean acidification due to high carbon dioxide. Both hope to continue their research into ways to eliminate food insecurity.
