We are thrilled to share the latest updates on our Bus GPS Trackers Project, which is progressing steadily toward its final phase.</span><br><br><span>We are currently finalizing Data Validation, a crucial step to ensure the reliability of our transit system. Data validation and accuracy were significant issues with our previous provider, and our partners at Swiftly are working diligently to ensure that the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) reflects our current schedules.     <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>The wait is finally over, VITAL is here! </span></p><p><span>The Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL) program is a partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and UMBC to help veterans achieve their academic goals. The VITAL program is comprised of VA mental health professionals who can help both student veterans and their universities/colleges by providing and/or assisting with services, resources, and support. </span></p><p><span>VITAL can assist with: </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Enrollment in VA healthcare.</span></p></li><li><p><span>VA and non-VA resources.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Academic accommodations.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Advocacy for student veterans.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Clinical services for veteran students dealing with various daily stressors, including attention issues, difficulty concentrating, stress, sleep problems, memory issues, anger/irritability, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and PTSD.</span></p></li></ul><p><span>Additionally, VITAL can assist with:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Trainings for faculty/staff.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Consultation services for faculty/staff.</span></p></li></ul><p><span>Dr. Daniel Koster is our on-campus psychologist for the VITAL program and will be on campus every Monday, beginning </span><span>March 4, to meet with students, faculty, and staff. Students, professors, faculty, club, doesn’t matter. </span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Qualification: </span><span>Just like last time, your submission must consist of 1 appetizer and 1 entree. While last year was exciting, to make it a little more interesting, your team must consist of 2 dishes with one of them being strictly vegetarian. In terms of the grading rubric, your recipe’s creativity, detail, ingredients, flavor and texture, and your use of a Retriever Essentials ingredient will determine if you’re picked!     <div class="html-content"><span>Hello Retrievers and Riders of the Arbutus route,</span><br><span>We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you about an upcoming Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) initiative that may impact your daily commute.</span><br><span><br></span><div><span>Starting tomorrow, February 22, 2024, DPWT will be implementing traffic calming measures along East Drive in Arbutus. The construction will include the installation of a raised intersection and two raised crosswalks. Weather permitting, this project is estimated to take one week to complete.</span><br><span><br></span></div><div><span>During this period, residents may experience alterations to traffic patterns on East Drive. Please rest assured that DPWT will diligently manage the traffic flow to minimize disruptions throughout construction. Our </span><a href="https://transit.umbc.edu/schedules/arbutus-line-schedule/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>Arbutus route</strong></a><span> may see some delays due to this work. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation during this time.
