We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you about an upcoming Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) initiative that may impact your daily commute.

Starting tomorrow, February 22, 2024, DPWT will be implementing traffic calming measures along East Drive in Arbutus. The construction will include the installation of a raised intersection and two raised crosswalks. Weather permitting, this project is estimated to take one week to complete.

During this period, residents may experience alterations to traffic patterns on East Drive. Please rest assured that DPWT will diligently manage the traffic flow to minimize disruptions throughout construction. Our Arbutus route may see some delays due to this work. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation during this time. Our priority is to enhance safety and traffic conditions in the area, and we appreciate your patience as we work towards achieving this goal.

There is a winter weather advisory in effect across our region, with snowfall expected tonight from 10:00 pm through 6:00 am, Saturday, February 17, 2024, with a possible total accumulation of 4-6 inches of snow. UMBC Transit may be subject to delays, service suspension, or closure depending on road conditions. We will assess road conditions on an hourly basis. Hello Retrievers,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing your transportation experience, we would like to inform you of some upcoming adjustments to our Downtown route, effective Monday, February 19, 2024.

We are adjusting the PM times on our downtown route to better align with bus connections and improve overall service efficiency. These changes aim to provide our valued passengers with a more seamless and convenient transit experience. We will change the current 5:15 p.m. departure time to 5:20 p.m. and add an additional run at 7:15 p.m.


Ongoing construction at the Medical Center has necessitated changes to two stops along the route:

1. Stop #7: Baltimore St. & Greene St. (UMB):


2. Stop #8 Greene St. & Lombard St.

These changes have been implemented to ensure your safety and convenience during this construction period. All adjustments and stop changes will be effective on Monday, February 19, 2024. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our services. Hello Retrievers,

There is a winter weather advisory in effect across our region. A mixture of rain and snowfall is expected from 300 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, with a possible total accumulation of 1-3 inches of snow in some areas. Depending on road conditions, UMBC Transit may be subject to delays, service suspension, or closure. We will assess road conditions on an hourly basis.
