Event Notification - Delays Expected - All Routes
Thursday, April 24, 2025 - CEI Arena
Hello Retrievers and Valued Riders,
Please be advised that The October Nights: Calling All Lovers Tour will be at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena, Thursday, April 24, 2025. Due to the high volume of traffic expected in and around the Arena, delays are anticipated on all UMBC Transit routes between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Please plan accordingly. Please use the UMBC Transit Tracker or the Transit App for real-time bus locations and updates.
For Non-Transit Riders:
If you are driving to or from campus:
- Expect heavier than usual traffic near the Arena.
- Follow all police directions and signage.
- If possible, avoid UMBC Boulevard and use alternate campus entrances/exits, such as Hilltop Road, Walker Avenue, and Poplar Avenue.
- Always yield to pedestrians and use caution.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call the Transit Office - at 410.455.2454. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Campus Climate Survey for Community, Engagement and Belonging
UMBC is conducting a climate survey to to gather data about UMBC community members' experiences and perceptions of their engagement, belonging, and overall campus climate at UMBC.
All students, faculty, and staff are invited to take the survey from April 1 – May 1, 2025
Those who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter a random drawing to receive one of the following as a way of saying "thank you" for taking the time to participate in the survey:
Retriever dollars ($25.00 per award)
Flex dollars ($25.00 per award)

What does the survey cover?
- Engagement (Engagement is defined as experiences that are demonstrated by how UMBC community members think, feel, and act, as well as how they feel about UMBC’s environment and policies, which influence how they feel towards UMBC.)

- Sense of Belonging
- Health & Well-Being (Well-being is defined as having both individual and community components that include but are not limited to physical health, mental health, wellness, learning/work/living environments, and overall campus climate.)

Who is behind the survey?
A team of UMBC students, faculty, and staff is working with Rankin Climate, an organization with 25 years of climate assessment experience at over 300 campuses on this project.
Will anyone be able to identify my responses?
Confidentiality is vital to the success of the survey. Rankin Climate has taken multiple precautionary measure to ensure anonymity. For more information go to the project website. To ensure confidentiality, raffle prizes and incentive processes happen separate from the survey itself

Construction and Road Closure
Hello Paradise Route Riders,
On Monday, April 14, 2025. - The construction crews have closed portions of Beechfield Ave beginning at Frederick Ave. and detoured all traffic effective immedately
