The Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) Student Council & Information Systems Council of Majors (ISCOM) will be hosting MAJOR Decisions: Demystifying COEIT Majors on October 19th from 6-8 pm in the University Center 310 & 312.
"Not sure if you want to major in IT or Engineering?? Come and talk to members of the IT and Engineering community in a casual atmosphere where you can ask questions and talk with members of each of these communities to help you decide whether IT and Engineering is right for you."
This is a chance to find more details about the majors within COEIT - chemical and biochem, civil and environmental, computer science and electrical, information systems, and mechanical engineering(!).
There are two components to this event: an information session (6-7pm) led by faculty that breaks down each major in COEIT, followed by a social component (7-8pm) that will include students, faculty, and light refreshments. The purpose of this event is to help students understand the differences between all the majors and help undecided students determine which major is best suited for them. It is targeted towards freshmen and undecided students, but is open to everyone.
