    <div class="html-content"><div>You are invited to the UMBC Africana Studies International Conference on <strong>"African Women, Civil Wars, and Peacebuilding"</strong> on <strong><u>May 17-18, 2023</u></strong>. The conference will start on the <strong>17th at 8:30 am</strong> with breakfast and registration; and a <strong>plenary session</strong> featuring a special panel by <strong>UMBC students</strong> (both undergraduate and graduate) at <strong>9:15 am - 10:30 am</strong>; and an opening ceremony; which will be followed by a talk by the<strong> first keynote speaker at 11 am - 12 noon</strong>; and lunch (African delicious meal) at 1<strong>2-1 pm</strong>. The Opening Session will take place at<strong> UC 312</strong>. There will be panel sessions on the 17th (ending at 4 pm) and 18th (ending at 2 pm). The conference will close with a <strong>Banquet of African food and music at 7-10 pm on the 18th, UC Ballroom</strong>.
