    <div class="html-content"><div>Amy Domingues and Carol Marsh of the Viola da Gamba Society of America will give a short lecture and performance demonstration in the Linehan Concert Hall on Wednesday, March 16, at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend. </div><div><br></div><div>The Viola da Gamba is a stringed, fretted instrument that was popular in Europe and European colonies during the Renaissance and Baroque eras. <Title>Alums Millan Bhatt and Ricky Jefferson Opening for Lawrence</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span>Millan Bhatt (Music Technology '19) and Ricky Jefferson (Jazz Studies '20) are currently touring as an opening act for soul-pop group Lawrence on their "Hotel TV Part 2" Tour. They have played shows in Vermont and New Hampshire, and will finish by playing in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey this weekend. <Title>Linda Dusman Scholarly Paper Acceptances</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Dr. Linda Dusman's collaborative research with Dr. Linda Baker (Professor emerita, Psychology Department), <em>The Bearman Study of Audience Engagement</em> at the National Orchestral Institute and at the Utah Symphony and funded by the Bearman Chair in Entrepreneurship at UMBC, has resulted in two scholarly paper acceptances. They will present their paper "<span>Informal Music Learning in Real-time via Smartphone App: </span><span>Enhancing Audience Engagement"</span> at The International Society of Music Education in Melbourne, Australia in July. Dr. Dusman will present "Music Theory in the Concert Hall: Enhancing Public Engagement in Realtime via Smartphone App" at the Pedagogy Into Practice Conference at Michigan State University in June, where her presentation has been selected for broadcast to remote audiences. She is a co-author with Dr. Foad Hamidi (Assistant Professor, Informations Systems Department) <em>et al</em> of  "Raaz: A Transdisciplinary Exploration at the Intersection of Bioart, HCI, and Community-Engagement," which has been accepted for publication in the journal <em>Frontiers in Computer Science.</em></div><br></div>
