The MFA Fellows Program is dedicated to providing hands-on experience in arts management and non-profit leadership to recent college graduates. The goal of the Fellowship is to help educate the next generation of arts leaders. The program is open to legal residents of the United States who are graduating from an accredited college or university in 2018 or who have graduated in the past two years. The MFA Exhibitions Fellowship is a full time entry-level position in arts management, approximately 35 hours per week but more as needed, beginning August 1, 2018 and ends August 30, 2019. The Fellowship Award is $25,000 per year, payable at $2083.33 per month over 13 months and subject to relevant taxes. The Fellow may accrue up to 10 paid vacation days and there are no health benefits. The position is Monday - Friday at Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401. MFA’s Arts Management Fellow reports directly to the Executive Director. Duties include coordinating all aspects of exhibitions at MFA’s Circle Gallery and at other alternate locations, maintaining the database, promoting and selling artwork, assisting with special events and educational programs, advertising and marketing, and supporting the membership. The Gallery Manager may utilize member volunteers when needed for assistance. Gallery Manager must be knowledgeable of MFA Exhibition procedures. MFA will provide structured professional development for the MFA Fellow including interviews with professionals in the field of arts management and workshops and/or classes in nonprofit management and fundraising. In addition, the Fellow will work with the Exhibition Committee Chair and the Executive Director to produce his or her own exhibition including but not limited to choosing the theme/medium, announcing the call to artists, choosing the juror installing the exhibition and promoting the show.
