Thank you.</span></div><div><br></div><div><h4>Seeking paid volunteer docents for SPARK: New Light at the Peale</h4><div><strong><br></strong></div><div><strong>Towson University and UMBC are recruiting paid volunteers to serve as docents for our <em><a href="https://www.thepealecenter.org/events/spark-new-light-exhibition/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">SPARK: New Light</a></em> exhibition at the Peale from August 18 - September 25. </strong><div><br></div><div>Docents will be on-site to answer visitor inquiries and lightly monitor the large exhibition which is located in the second and third-floor galleries of the Peale (the Peale is accessible.)<br></div><div><br></div><div><strong>Volunteers will be given a stipend of $12 an hour for their time</strong>, to be paid as a single stipend payment after the close of the exhibition in late September. Volunteers will not be considered employees of Towson University, UMBC, or the Peale.</div><div><br></div><div><div><u><strong>Docent shifts available from August 18 -September 25:</strong></u></div>Thursdays: 3 - 7 pm<br>Fridays: 3 - 7 pm<br>Saturdays, two shifts: 10 am -1 pm and 1 - 4 pm<br>Sundays, two shifts: 10 am -1 pm and 1 - 4 pm<div><br></div><div><strong>To be considered,</strong> please send an email to <a href="mailto:spark.docents@gmail.com" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">spark.docents@gmail.com</a> – tell us a little about yourself and why this opportunity interests you, and include information about your availability to volunteer during the run of the exhibition.     <div class="html-content"><div><div><p><strong><span>MUSEUM STUDIES FELLOW AT SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY</span></strong></p><p><strong><span>CALL FOR PROPOSALS</span></strong></p><p><strong><span> </span></strong></p><p><span>The School of Design and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at South Dakota State University invite applications for a new Museum Studies Fellow for the spring and summer 2023. This fellowship initiative has been made possible thanks to combined funding from the FUNd for Museum Studies and the Elizabeth Firestone Graham Foundation.</span></p><p><span>South Dakota State University offers the only program in Museum Studies across the state.<span> Founded<span> </span>in<span> </span>2015,<span> the </span>Museum Studies<span> </span>at<span> </span>SDSU<span> </span>is<span> </span>a<span> dynamic, </span>robust, collaborative and interdisciplinary<span> minor</span>. It provides students with<span> </span>a solid background in<span> </span>the<span> </span>preservation and presentation of cultural materials and artifacts, as well<span> </span>as in communication, design, and management skills.</span></span></p><p><span>Our minor is shaped and delivered as an academic-professional partnership with five institutions in Brookings: <span>the<span> </span>South<span> </span>Dakota<span> </span>Art<span> </span>Museum,<span> </span>the<span> </span>South<span> </span>Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum, the<span> </span>Children's Museum of<span> </span>South Dakota, McCrory Gardens, and<span> </span>SDSU's Archives and<span> </span>Special Collections at<span> </span>Hilton M. Briggs Library. The minor’s operations are managed within the School of Design, an interdisciplinary academic unit housing programs in Art Education, Studio Art, Graphic Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design.</span></span></p><p><span>The Museum Studies Fellow will be a graduate student (Master’s or PhD) with a Museum Studies backgroun<span>d or some experience in collecting institutions, for instance museums, library archives, public gardens, state or national parks, or historic sites.</span></span></p><p><span>The Fellow will be actively involved in our spring 2023 Introduction to Museum Studies course and in our Summer 2023 Internships. They will shadow the Instructor of Record, visit all the partner institutions, be involved in the class activities, share insights with our undergraduate students. The fellow will also be actively involved with our partner institutions here in Brookings throughout the fellowship.</span></p><p><span>During the spring semester, the Fellow will deliver a public lecture centered on their own exhibition record, career path, research, and/or relevant experiences in the field. <span></span></span></p><p><span>The Fellow<span> </span>will be required to submit a<span> </span>progress report periodically throughout the fellowship and a final report at<span> </span>the<span> end of the </span>fellowship period. The report will be detailing the activities<span> </span>completed throughout<span> </span>the<span> </span>duration of<span> </span>the<span> </span>project and the learning that occurred; it will<span> </span>provide insights<span> </span>on<span> </span>how<span> </span>this multi-layered mentoring model has contributed to the Fellow's professional growth.</span></p><p><span>The Fellow will receive a $19,046 all-inclusive stipend to travel and live in Brookings for seven months, from January 7 to August 7, 2023.     <div class="html-content"><div><div>OCA Mocha is excited to announce that we're looking to fill a paid arts coordinator intern position for this upcoming Fall 2020 semester. The position pays $750 for the semester. We are hoping to find an enthusiastic student who can assist in rotating our art gallery as well as promoting arts at OCA Mocha more generally. Included here is a PDF with the internship descriptions below. It's worth noting that all positions are currently open as well. </div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><ul><li><p><span>The </span><span>arts</span><span> intern will be responsible for the following: </span></p></li><ul><li><p><span>Maintain rotating exhibition on 120’ hallway gallery wall</span></p></li><ul><li><p><span>Drafting and posting Call to Artists, curating submissions, coordinating pick-up, and drop-off of art with artists, de-installation, and installation.</span></p></li></ul><li><p><span>Maintaining a list of local student and community artists</span></p></li><li><p><span>Maintaining the partnerships with UMBC Arts Department, Baltimore County Arts Guild, and local schools</span></p></li><li><p><span>Kids Club every 2nd Saturday of the month</span></p></li><ul><li><p><span>Create craft kits (bonus points if they are educational) that parents/guardians can pick up for their children using the art supplies we have in the intern office</span></p></li></ul><li><p><span>Continue the efforts on the community Mural. </span></p></li><ul><li><p><span>Communicate with the Baltimore County Arts Guild and UMBC for guidance and work with a muralist and artist to design and create the mural.</span></p></li></ul></ul></ul></span></div><div><span><span><br></span></span></div><div>Anyone interested in the position should reach out at <a href="mailto:manager@ocamocha.com" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">manager@ocamocha.com</a> before Aug. 10th.     <div class="html-content"><p><span>Hello Retrievers!</span></p><br><p><span>Please read the information below regarding a summer internship opportunity with Ardent Privacy!</span><span> </span></p><p><span>If you are looking for a summer internship opportunity, you might consider </span><span>applying for this new internship with Ardent, a local firm based in </span><span>Catonsville at BW Tech near UMBC. I have included the information below. </span><span>Please submit your resume to </span><span><a href="mailto:advisor@ardentsec.com">advisor@ardentsec.com</a></span></p><br><p><span>And this is a paid internship ($12-18 hourly), but pay is dependent on your </span><span>experience.</span></p><p><span>*Internship Position: Privacy Marketing intern *</span></p><p><span>Ardent is seeking motivated graduate students, law school students, and </span><span>very talented upperclassmen who are experienced in *technology policy, </span><span>fintech and/or cybersecurity*.</span></p><p><span>This role will be best suited for students who are passionate about privacy </span><span>and technology. The internship will total between 200-300 hours, and you </span><span>will get to work out of the Ardent office in Catonsville and/or remotely </span><span>over the summer, depending on the pandemic.</span></p><p><span>*Qualifications:*</span></p><p><span>   - Demonstrated passion for relevant technology policy issues;</span></p><p><span>   - Excellent communication skills</span></p><p><span>   - Proven research and analytical skills;</span></p><p><span>   - Excellent writing skills;</span></p><p><span>   - Resourcefulness, determination, and tenacity;</span></p><p><span>   - Comfort talking to potential customers and partners</span></p><p><span>   - Technical knowledge, skills, and aptitude a plus.</span></p><br><p><span>*Responsibilities:*</span></p><br><p><span>   - Contribute research and writing to projects that may include a broad</span><span> range of tech policy issues, consumer privacy, financial technology, and </span><span>cybersecurity.</span></p><p><span>   - Contribute to data privacy technology development</span></p><p><span>   - Identify and analyze emerging issues in tech policy</span></p><p><span>   - Assist with administrative tasks, social media posting, and events</span></p><p><span>   - Other tasks as directed.</span></p><p><span>Location: </span><span>bwtech @UMBC Research &amp; Technology Park, 5520 Research Park Drive | Suite 100 </span></p><p><span>Catonsville, MD 21228</span></p><br><p><span><a href="http://www.ardentsec.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">www.ardentsec.com</a></span></p></div>
