The Director of Development leads and oversees all aspects of the fundraising process at Everyman Theatre. This position is a vital member of the senior staff and is responsible for raising roughly half of the Theatre’s annual operating budget from individual, foundation, government and corporate sources to support the Theatre’s acclaimed productions, education programming and community engagement initiatives.

The Development Director serves as a key liaison between board, staff, and donors, and must coalesce the fundraising strategies necessary to implement leadership’s vision. This position is ideal for an energetic, tenacious and ambitious development professional who is eager to find creative solutions to challenges, reach for ambitious goals, and cultivate successful philanthropic relationships for a beloved Baltimore cultural institution.

Rob Deford is a twelfth generation Marylander with over forty years of experience in the wine industry. He studied viticulture and enology at the University of California at Davis from 1979–1980. Upon returning to Maryland, Rob assumed the role of president and winemaker of Maryland’s historic Boordy Vineyards. Under Rob’s guidance Boordy has gained a reputation as a leader in the regional wine movement in the mid-Atlantic, through one of the most exciting and challenging periods for the American wine industry.
