Drs. Eggleton, Ma, Madan, Topoleski, Gurganus, and Zhu joined 23 ME S-STEM scholars to have a virtual retreat today today via WebEx platform to introduce 5 new scholars and welcome back current scholars. All faculty mentors of the ME S-STEM scholarship program introduced themselves first.  Dr. Zhu then gave a powerpoint presentation on the features of the scholarship program and expectations to the students.  Drs. Ma and Madan presented a workshop on how to approach faculty for teaching and research, as well as seeking research opportunities on campus or in outside institutions.  Later all faculty mentors stayed to answer several questions scholars had related to the program.  We had a new normal of group photo!

Once this was finished, she compared trends in aerosol pH with trends in sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide concentrations in order to determine to what extent air pollutants have influenced aerosol pH over the last decade. The ultimate goal of this research is to determine how the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Air Act has influenced aerosol acidity.  Congratulation, Diane, for a job well done. ]]>
