    <div class="html-content"><strong>Friendly Reminder: </strong>Final Spring 2019 grades will be updated on Academic Official Transcripts for all UMBC students on June 7, 2019.<br><br>In early June, the Merit Scholarship Unit will conduct their annual academic review for all current UMBC merit scholars to ensure they are maintaining their scholarship requirements. Scholar recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (which may vary depending upon their awarded scholarship) as well as maintain full-time enrollment (part-time for transfer scholars) each fall and spring semester.<br><br>Recipients failing to meet these requirements will lose their scholarship and be notified via e-mail, myUMBC Alert &amp;  by USPS mail of their award discontinuation. <br><br>Once a scholar has been discontinued from their merit scholarship, their award will not be reinstated regardless if the student is  able to meet the terms of their scholarship in a future semester.  Students, however, will have approximately 2-3 weeks following official notification to appeal the status of their discontinuation.  If approved, scholars will be placed on Scholarship Probation and remain under review for one (1) academic semester.<br><br><strong>The application for Spring 2019 Discontinuations goes live June 6, 2019<br><br></strong><div><strong>The deadline for all Scholarship Discontinuation Appeals is 4:00PM on Thursday, June 28, 2019 (<em>for Spring 2019 discontinuations only</em>).  </strong><strong><u>There will be no extensions to appeal after the deadline</u>. <br></strong></div><div><strong><br></strong></div><div><strong>Previous semester discontinuation appeals will not be accepted.</strong></div><br><em><br><u>Note</u>: You are receiving this notification because you are enrolled in the UMBC Student Group: UMBC Merit Scholars.</em><br></div>
