Spring 2019 Withdraw Approval Requests
Get Scholarship Approval before Withdrawing from Classes
The last day to drop classes without a "W" grade on your academic transcript was Friday, February 8, 2019. Therefore, moving forward, any withdraws to course load will result in a "W" grade if you choose to withdrawal from a course(s).
As indicated in students' scholarship agreement, all scholars must
maintain 12+ credits (at least 6 credits for transfers) enrollment each
semester in order to receive their scholarship. If a scholar falls below
their required enrollment status for any reason without receiving approval from the Scholarship Review Committee, their scholarship will be discontinued indefinitely.
Prior to making any changes to their enrollment, scholars should request prior approval to withdraw from class(es) by submitting the Scholarship Withdrawal Request Form. Failure to gain approval may result in scholarship discontinuation indefinitely.

Spring 2019 Add/Drop Deadline- Feb 8, 2019
UMBC’s Last day to Add or Drop a Course for Spring 2019 is Friday, February
8, 2019. Scholars are
eligible to make changes to their semester enrollment until this date; however,
please be advised you must successfully complete a minimum of 12 credits (6
credits- transfers) in order to meet the terms of your scholarship.
How does the new graduation requirement of opting out of PE
courses affect my enrollment and eligibility for my merit scholarship?
If you opt out
of the new graduation requirements we will be able to count your PE credits for
financial aid purposes since they will then be required for graduation. HOWEVER,
if you choose the new graduation requirement, your enrollment status may be less than or 3/4, which may impact your eligibility for your merit scholarships,
which requires full time (12+ credits) enrollment.

Spring 2018 Enrollment Reminder for Scholars
Dear UMBC Merit Scholars:
On behalf of the Merit Scholarships Unit, we would like welcome you back to campus for Spring 2018! As a FRIENDLY REMINDER, all merit scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) and successfully enroll and complete at least 12+ credits each fall and spring semester (6+ credits for transfer merit scholars).
Please Note: UMBC’s Last day to Register or Add a Course for Spring 2018 is Friday, February 9, 2018. Scholars are eligible to make changes to their semester enrollment until this date; however, please be advised you must complete at least 12 credits (6 credits- transfers) in order to meet the terms of your scholarship.
At the end of the fall semester, the Merit Scholarship Review Committee will review your academic record, as well as enrollment status to confirm compliance with your scholarship requirements.
