Dear UMBC Merit Scholars:

On behalf of the Merit Scholarships Unit, we would like welcome you back to campus for Fall 2017!  As a friendly reminder, all merit scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) and successfully enroll and complete at least 12+ credits each fall and spring semester (6+ credits for transfer merit scholars).

Please Note:  UMBC’s Last day to Register or Add a Course for Fall 2017 is Wednesday, September 13, 2017.  Scholars are eligible to make changes to their semester enrollment until this date; however, please be advised you must complete at least 12 credits (6 credits- transfers) in order to meet the terms of your scholarship.

At the end of the fall semester, the Merit Scholarship Review Committee will review your academic record, as well as enrollment status to confirm compliance with your scholarship requirements.

The Training Advisors would like to inform you about a new scholarship opportunity for your students.

Our scholarship is called The Training Advisors Scholarship. 

As providers of continued education and learning, we place a strong value on the advancement and education of our future leaders.

Our only requirements are as follows:

All current or prospective students be enrolled in an accredited institution located within the United States

Award amount/details:

We will be giving the award twice a year. 

$1,000 will be awarded for all submissions due by July 15, 2017

UMBC Residential Life is pleased to present the Residential Life Student Success Scholarship and the Clarence E. Robinson Jr. Memorial Scholarship to assist students financially during academic year 2017, fall semester.

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is a premier global engineering organization with a mission to “lead collaborative efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges“. A primary means to fulfilling this mission is to encourage talented students to pursue careers in engineering, architecture, and related fields.

The Mid-Maryland Post of SAME supports the mission by providing assistance to deserving students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or related science, planning, and construction fields at local colleges and universities. Scholarship applications will be reviewed in April and awards of at least $1,000 per recipient will be announced in May.
