Toyota Motor North America is looking for qualified candidates for The Jesse Jackson Fellows-Toyota Rainbow PUSH for Excellence Scholarship. The PUSH for Excellence Scholarship is a renewable scholarship that awards up to $75,000 each to 10 qualifying STEM and Business students over 3 years. Along with the financial assistance, applicants will also receive ​mentoring, a paid co-op internship experience at Toyota Motor North America and the potential for future employment post-graduation.

As a friendly reminder, all merit scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) and successfully complete at least 12+ credits (6+ credits for transfer students) each semester. Since mid-terms are quickly approaching, we have provided you the following list of accessible resources on campus to ensure you successfully meet the terms of your scholarship agreement 

●      Arrange a meeting with an academic advisor at the Advising Services Department to discuss success strategies.

●      Utilize Student Support and Tutoring Services for peer and tutoring resources.

●      Visit the Learning Resources Center for learning assistance services.

●      Schedule a one-on-one meeting with your professors to validate you are obtaining the accurate information in lectures and/or labs.

At the end of the spring semester, the Merit Scholarship Review Committee will review your academic record and confirm compliance with your scholarship requirements.

The Merit Scholarship Unit reviews scholars’ academic standing each fall and spring semester to ensure they are maintaining their scholarship requirements. Recipients failing to meet these requirements will lose their scholarship and be notified by mail of their award discontinuation.

(Only first-semester freshmen are granted an automatic “warning” period if they fail to meet their terms).

Once a scholar has been discontinued from their merit scholarship, their award will not be reinstated regardless if the student is  able to meet the terms of their scholarship in a future semester. 

Scholars with extenuating circumstances may appeal their scholarship discontinuation by submitting a Scholarship Discontinuation Appeal.

The deadline for all Scholarship Discontinuation Appeals is 4:00PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 (for Fall 2017 discontinuations only). 

Please note: If the appeal is denied or no appeal is submitted by the published deadline, the scholarship will be permanently discontinued and cannot be reinstated.
