Two Mechanical Engineering students who are currently in the Maryland Elite Researchers-in-Training (MERIT) Program under Dr. Carlos Romero-Talamás, won 1st and 2nd place in the Innovative STEM Conference 2014 held this year at Morgan State University. This is a young conference, and all the previous winners in this category have been from the host school, so home field advantage was alive and present before this year.
