Maryland Department of Aging is looking for interns to work on its Maryland Access Point (MAP) program's database. MAP is a partner in the national Aging and Disability Resource Center initiative supported by the Administration on Community Living (formally Administration on Aging)and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. MAP Program is part of Maryland’s No Wrong Door approach for providing access to the Aging network to obtain information concerning benefits and programs for older adults and individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. Through the program, seniors and individuals with disabilities receive information to make informed choices about services, referrals to appropriate agencies, assistance in obtaining services and benefits, and follow-up. The program promotes awareness of services for the elderly and individuals with disabilities through outreach and public education, and provides information about health care, Medicare/health insurance, in-home services, transportation, housing, legal services, senior centers, retirement communities, prescriptions drugs and more.Students will be assigned specifics tasks and quality assurance activities. These tasks will require them to learn the business rules that govern our MAP website and to use the inclusion/exclusion policy to implement the business rules. Student will also be involved in meetings with the other State agencies involved in the program as we review, revise and develop program policies.
We are looking for 2 interns for Fall and Spring semesters.
