The Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship
The Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship is a fully funded, 4-week, 6-credit summer study abroad program designed to enhance leadership and intercultural skills. Open to all majors who are rising Sophomores or Juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who are Pell Grant eligible. , and make an appointment to meet with Dr. April Householder (aprilh@umbc.edu). We are hosting a Summer Bridging Conference, Math Institute and Summer Success Institute for undergraduate students of the USM System, this is a FREE program sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Meals are included, the program is extensive, the students don't need to attend all the sessions, they can pick which one they want to attend. We will provide FREE transportation from UMBC campus. They need to send an email to
promisestaff@umbc.edu with the subject "bus" with their name, department, and campus for free transportation.
