Appreciating Differences in a Changing World: An Interactive Musical Experience to Strengthen CommUNITY
2/13/17 2:00-4:30 p.m. UC Ballroom
The word ‘community’ is a joining of two words – ‘common’ and ‘unity.’ How do we find our common unity during these changing times especially when we don’t agree? What capacities are needed to bring about a truly inclusive community, one that honors and calls forth the best in all of us? This interactive concert with nationally touring conscious singer-songwriter and trainer and UMBC alum ('93 Psychology), Bob Sima, will explore these and other powerful questions through music and discussion with the goals being to strengthen our community and increase and improve:
This experience aims to inspire hope, connects us with those different from us, and empower us collectively toward making positive social change for the good of the whole.
For those who want a taste of Bob's work, here is a short video. For more information about the event, check out our myUMBC post.
Space is still available! Please join us for this timely musical conversation and feel free to attend part of the event or the whole if your schedule allows!
Sponsored by the Department of Human Resources as part of its Spring 2017 HR Diversity Workshop Series.
