The Southern Journal of Linguistics is looking for student-written papers on topics within "Language, Gender, and Sexuality" (LGS) for a special working papers issue. The purpose of this issue is to highlight the in-process of work of younger scholars and encourage them as they begin to engage in academic dialogue on these topics. To that end, we are asking that you encourage any graduate or advanced undergraduates who have turned in exceptional work for your LGS courses to submit their papers for consideration. Submissions will go through a peer review process, with the intention of offering these young scholars feedback and encouragement.
The journal issue will also feature two established scholars as discussants who will be asked to focus on the directions of study within LGS as indicated by the trajectories of student work.
Submissions should be emailed to Allison Burkette (burkette@olemiss.edu) by March 1, 2017 in order to be considered.
