Sister Scholars: Black Sister Circles in the Doctoral Journey
A Sister Circle is a "support group that builds upon existing friendships, fictive kin networks, and the sense of community found among Black women (Barnett et. al., 2001, p.267). All self-identified Black women pursing a PhD who participated in a Black Sister Circle within the last 6-months are invited to reach out to Sherella Cupid. Those interested are invited to participate in an interview as a part of a qualitative research course project, Sister Scholars: Black Sister Circles in the Doctoral Journey. This will involve a one-time face to face interview that will last for about 30-45 minutes in mid-October-November 15, 2016. Those selected will be notified of the location on UMBC's campus. If you have any more questions about the Sister Circle please contact Sherella Cupid at cupids1@umbc.edu.
