Maret seeks to hire a full-time Humanities teacher for courses in our Upper School for the 2016 – 2017 school year. The job involves teaching four sections – a combination of core English courses and a year-long 11th and 12th grade elective based on the school’s needs and/or the teacher’s interests and experience. Maret offers a close-knit, supportive environment and a collegial atmosphere. We welcome energetic and flexible lifelong learners who are reflective about their teaching practices and willing to innovate and grow as teachers and mentors.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years teaching experience in English, an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to learning, and a demonstrated commitment to collaboration. They should have a comfort with technology and interest in working with students of different developmental levels who possess a range of abilities and learning styles. Additionally, the person hired should expect to serve as an academic advisor and embrace our equity an inclusion-centered school mission.
