The Coordinator, Online Projects, works for the U.S. Department of State funded English Language (EL) Programs administered by Georgetown University’s Center for Intercultural Education to support the following Office of English Language Programs (OELP) activities:
- American English Webinar Series
- The Community of Practice (COP), the (EL Programs social media platform
- OELP Websites, Materials and Social Media Platforms
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing on-going technical and admin support for all aspects of the Webinar Series, including vetting of presenters and content development
- Coordinating Webinar Series participant registration, attendance and email notification systems and strategies
- Monitoring COP content
- Building COP content and expanding level of participant engagement on the COP
- Coordinating COP maintenance, technical revisions, and updates
- Supporting content development for the American English Website, English Teaching Forum, and American English social media channels
- Participating in EL Programs outreach and alumni engagement, as needed
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in TESOL or related field or BA degree in TESOL or related field with commensurate experience
- Exceptionally strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience administering online social media communities and/or professional development sites
- Knowledge of digital technology platforms for the purposes of managing online communities
- Experience working with web conferencing and virtual learning platforms, for example, but not limited to, Adobe Connect, WordPress, Go To Meeting, Ning, Edmodo
- Ability to independently establish objectives, plan, direct, and evaluate all aspects of work projects
- Excellent writing and editing skills for the preparation of online materials, administrative reports, correspondence and program text
- Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication skills with ability to interact and communicate in a positive manner with a diverse clientele, including universities, membership organizations, program participants and government employees
- Demonstrated effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless client service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software applications
- Ability to travel both in the United States and internationally, if needed
Preferred requirements:
- Alumnus or alumna of the Department of State English Language Fellow or Specialist Program
- Experience with e-learning platforms, social media engagement development and/or online graphic design
- Experience working with federally funded exchange programs and/or educational programs
- Experience living and working overseas
