The IHS Summer Research Colloquium is a highly anticipated academic conference for graduate students working on liberty-related research in the humanities and social sciences. This year’s colloquium will take place July 9-12, 2015 at Chapman University in Orange, California.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to present their working papers to top scholars and peers in an interdisciplinary setting and receive friendly, yet constructive critiques to refine their research and move the projects towards publication readiness.
About The Colloquium
The Summer Research Colloquium features concurrent student panel sessions and plenary sessions from leading classical liberal academics throughout the weekend. The first session begins at 4 pm on Thursday, July 9 at Chapman University, Orange, CA. All accepted participants will receive lodging and meals during the course of the conference. Some travel stipends will be made to accepted presenters.
The daily schedule will include sessions with 2-3 students presenting their research, followed by an evening faculty lecture and reception. Each student presentation will be 30 minutes in length with time for feedback and Q&A. During student sessions peers and faculty will carefully analyze participants’ presentations, theses, methodology and conclusions to help them improve both their presentation skills and the paper prior to submission for publication.
