The Congressional District Health Dashboard is a new online tool that provides first-of-its-kind critical health and social data for all 435 congressional districts across the country.
The Dashboard incorporates 36 key measures of health, such as deaths from cardiovascular disease and breast cancer, along with conditions that affect health, like housing affordability and access to nutritious foods. Until now, most of these data were not available at the congressional district level, nor were they compiled in a single location or easily available to the public.
Join us to explore the Dashboard and its innovative features, and dig into key findings related to child poverty, maternal health, and racial and economic disparities in health:
Developed by the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Congressional District Health Dashboard is a one-stop resource of trusted, nonpartisan data at the congressional district level to support policies that allow everyone the opportunity for good health and wellbeing.

in Bloomsbury Series on Literatures as World Literatures
A new volume in the series Literatures as World Literatures was just published by Bloomsbury Publishing. It was co-edited by Kevin Wisniewski, Ph.D. '18 and is called Polish Literature as World Literature.
It provides an overview of Polish authors and works from the 16th century
to today, highlighting their contributions to and interactions with
world literature and cultures.

NSF Webinar on Revised Bios & Current/Pending Form

NSF implemented revised versions of theBiographical Sketchand
Current and Pending (Other) Supportformats for consistency with the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (
NSF 23-1).
The requirement to use the revised formats is effective for proposals submitted or due on or after January 30, 2023.
These revised formats are now available inSciENcv and on the
NSF Policy Office website.
As a reminder, the mandate to use SciENcv only for preparation of these senior personnel documents will go into effect for new proposals submitted or due on or after October 23, 2023.
Staff from NSF and NIH will conduct a webinar to discuss the revised formats and demonstrate the SciENcv system on Thursday, January 19
th at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Fulbright Accelerator Workshop for CAHSS Faculty
Friday, February 24, 2023

An invitation with registration will be sent in January.
Learn about the 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program and other exciting Fulbright opportunities at this workshop for CAHSS faculty, presented by the Institute of International Education (IIE), which develops and implements the Fulbright program.
Dr. Julie Taylor,IIE Director of Academic Relations for the Fulbright program, will provide information on the upcoming competition cycle, that starts in February 2023, and on the Catalog of Awards.
Dr. Brian Souders, Associate Director for Global Engagement Opportunities in the Center for Global Engagement, and UMBC's Fulbright Scholar Liaison, will discuss support for faculty applicants. Tips for preparing strong Fulbright applications, initiating outreach to international host institutions, and doing short- and long-term planning, will also be covered.
Dr. Tanya Saunders, Associate Professor, LLC Program, will speak about their experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil.
Time will be given for Q&A.
The 2023 Fulbright Accelerator Workshop is co-sponsored by the CAHSS Dean's Office; the Center for Social Science Scholarship; the Center for Innovation, Research, and Creativity in the Arts; the Dresher Center for the Humanities; and the Center for Global Engagement.
