POSITION TITLE: Library Services Technician (Job # 024)
PERSONNEL STATUS: Nonexempt, Full-time, Regular
DEPARTMENT: Library
RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will perform basic database maintenance for library collections in several databases for a variety of materials. Specific duties include: performing basic serials copy cataloging; copying catalog, UMBC theses and dissertations in several databases such as Aleph, ContentDM, and OCLC; assisting with routine processes such as weeding and transferring materials; patron purge clean up; assisting with projects such as metadata creation for digitized collections; making decisions based on established procedures to resolve cataloging and database maintenance related problems; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of library or related clerical or public service experience. Must be detail oriented and able to follow established procedures. Knowledge of Aleph, ContentDM, and OCLC a plus.
SALARY: Pay Range 7 (starting at $30,177) based on the University System of Maryland Pay Program
