UMBC now has trial access to the Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science.
Synthesis is an innovative information service for the research, development and educational communities in engineering and computer science. It combines authoritative content with advanced digital delivery to create a product that is substantially more useful than traditional print and digital publications.
The basic component of the library is a 50- to 100-page electronic book (called a Lecture) that synthesizes an important research or development topic, authored by a prominent contributor to the field.

- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Chemical and Biochemical Engineering
- Communication Networks
- Computer Graphics and Animation
- Energy & the Enviroment
- Information Security, Privacy, & Trust
- and much more
For off-campus access, please login via VPN first (http://vpn.umbc.edu) and follow the link to the UMBC Library Homepage. Then follow the link under "News & Events" on the Library's homepage to return to this post and click on the "Visit Website" button to access the database.
